They have made many changes to software on the 30 series over the years, some to improve laser life, by turning off the laser when you are not printing. Anything that improves laser life is worth having so if you are running old software like F get a newer version. As for Profiles, often a new version of software will state that your profile must ne XXX or better. Just because a newer profile is available doesn't mean you are missing anything unless you have just changed paper type to a new one that is not on your list, You can get a new profile because they have launched a new paper that you don't use, or added a new Flat bed scanner
Noritsu have typically not released update info, so it has always been a matter of trying to notice anything different........ Although we are on K I cannot recall any significant change since maybe E when quality seemed to get worse! It wouldbe nice to get a radical re-write, but it isn't going to happen. I would just stick with what you have that works unless you get free upgrades. Phil
whats the difference between the J series and K series anyways? Bugger all They have added a new function for the new remote diagnostic function EZi
EZi has got a lot of future benefits for all concerned if you have got decent bandwidth on your Internet connection? Remote fixes and even software upgrades are possible, for the user thats fine but it all has costs that someone has to pay for, buying a new machine 5-8 years ago doesn't always cut the mustard with kit suppliers. From what I have seen here everyone wants the latest versions of software but you only want it if its free. Don't get me wrong I have been known to use hooky versions of Microsoft software and yes we all think he can afford it. For the manufacturer to keep up to date with the many changes that affect a bit of kit as it ages, its hard work. They have no control over: New paper, chemistry, file formats, media formats,CD files, hard ware that is no longer made, especially PC related parts, motherboards, CPU, scanner, hard drives, etc etc. continued software development has huge costs.
