Arcnet cable spec for QSS-3211

Recommended Posts

Hello, I would like to rewire the arcnet with new optical cable.

What are the exact specification of these type of cables?

I'd like to make sure to buy the correct ones.

Any info on this is much appreciated.

Best regards!

It is simple 1 mm optical cable ( all plastic fiber, 980 µm core, 1000 µm cladding ) . Inside minilab and workstation used single core cables ( black ) . Between workstation and minilab and between workstation and scanner - two core optical cables with protection ( white ) .
Do not see reason to change cables. In most cases they are fine. Usually problem - transmitters. Sorry, but impossible to buy them new. Can find only used. Only very experienced engineer can replace transmitter. On minilab used multi-layer boards and easy to destroy them.
Instead to replace optical cables can cut their ends ( 90 degrees using special cutter, or sharp blade ) . Ends have oxidation and if to cut off will be a little better. If decide to change cables use some which has lower optical resistance. Then signal from weak transmitter can reach receiver on other board.
