willbb123
We have a really old kpm that had a Epson Perfection 1640su scanner connected to it. I was hoping that I could get rid of the old kpm and put our newer g3 kpm on top of the stand and connect the scanner to it. The scanner has a USB port but the kpm does not recognize the scanner. I installed the scanner software that worked with the old kpm, so when it is starting in the checks it says scanner but it does not say FOUND or NOT FOUND it just leaves a blank and moves onto the next line. Any help would be great, Thanks Will This is what the old one is, except it doesent have the second side of the printer This is what our newer one looks like, minus the base

willbb123
the oldest g3 that i took it off was was running the new software and it worked fine. thats why I assumed I could just plug it in and it would go... the old one didnt use usb it used a SCSI connector. I tried moving the card from the old machine to the newer one but that didnt work either. I was going to try and find drivers and install them. Will the kodak software recognize the software if I install it in windows or do i have to install through the kodak install? If so is there a special way to do it? frenchman
the pc model (D1U/5CU)of the old or first picture maker dont have a ubs port for connect a scanner is only with scsi card. The lastest soft will be total rewrited without and exclued scsi connection .I'm sure this is not possible to run your 1640 SU scanner with this program, it's only usb ,but if you have the usb frontside instaled in your picture maker ,inside the picture maker you have a usb hub and it's possible to connect all type of scanner but only epson perfection series. frenchman

willbb123
Sorry I got confused with the last post... We are getting rid of the oldest picture maker, so we have a newer order station that was sitting on the counter. My plan was to save the cart the printers and scanner were in and put the order station on top of it and connect the scanner. Both units were running the newest software so I was thinking that I would be able to plug the scanner directly into the new order station, but there is no SCSI connector on the order station. There is a USB on the scanner so I thought that it would work. Here is what I am thinking, please tell me if you think any will work, or am I crazy... - Download the most up to date scanner driver onto the order station. OR - Take the SCSI card out of the old print station and install it on the order station and somehow find drivers for both the card and the scanner. I do not know if I have Print Scanner Enablement Software v2.0 installed. Where do I go to see if it is and if I dont where can I find it? Thanks for your help and sorry about the confusion. frenchman
for reactivate the enabler go to the setup menu and diagnostic menu and diag services for engeneer password =>741963 or 147358 or 789632 go to the menu for reinstall option ,after the reinstall it's nessessary to restart the KPK. The enabler contains the epson driver and the validation key for use it with the software V.1.X,after is nessessary to validate the scanner source in your preference menu and option for working.when all is alright you can see a new icon's in the screen. bye frenchman
