manager
I used with MS lots of antiviruses. I have to say that avast is the worst, not in protecting computer but because it blocks the network with the printer frequently. This is done by viruses also, but antiviruses see this intense printer trafiic as harmful. So even Kaspersky behaves the same sometimes. WHAT SHOULD WE SET IN ANTIVIRUS INTERFACE SO NO MORE CONNECTION BLOCKING ISSUES?
nabil21
AVG is a good antivirus to your server and clients, you have just to desactivate the firewall so it does not blocks the network but you can also protect your system with just Deep freeze! but i dont know how to secure the scanner because deep freeze block sometimes the LP printer if you install it to the scanner !! photocorp
Our facility runs internally on AVG Network version and that includes all the printers. Noritsu's, Afga NetLab, Durst Theta's and even the two Konica Bizhub Pro copiers with Creo workstations (use these to print books). After a malicious attack two years back which brough the company to a stand-stilll for two days we saw no other option. Works great for us. AVG is set to scan every drive connected to a workstation, so if some dude plugs in his USB flashdrive with some downlaoded files they brought from home then AVG will check first. Bit time consumiing if you have a big USB HD but worth the peace of mind.........

manager
I did think about it but there is a potential risk of infection if left unscanned. Anyway, it is not important if you have an image of the system somewhere. I will follow your advice, thanks!
