This is definitely a problem with dust or hair of some other contamination in the path of the laser. First you should try to remove the laser unit and make sure there is no debris under the laser where the paper is exposed. Also look at the bottom of the laser and open the shutter with your hand to see if there is anything in the opening of the laser unit. If you don’t see anything there I cannot recommend that you open the laser unit but we can repair it for you.

You could try using some of that canned air for cleaning electronics. It is very dry and clean. Use it to blow dust away from the mirror inside the shutter area. Only do this if you are sure the contamination is in this area because it is possible to dislodge other dust and make the problem worse.
