Line on prints

Recommended Posts

With the laser unit removed, try feeding your print up through the side door into the optical section, being careful to get it placed like it would be when exposing.

Then use a flashlight to carefully check the area directly above the line on the print.

I had a problem like this once, and after several tries at cleaning I did this and when shining the flashlight saw a slight reflection of light. On careful examination I found

a small thread of fibre.. maybe from a sweater that had wrapped itself around a screw head and was just barely poking into the light path.  Without the reflection of the flashlight I could never see it! It was finer than a human

hair, but caused a definite line in the prints.
