manager
My Frontier 340 printer made a click or something and from that moment everything is blue, upkeep, paper auto setup, prints... I tried restoring the HDD image but no change, so there must be something mechanical or one of the lasers because the yellow color rectangle is missing completely from the upkeep print. What do i have to check and where? Please help! Mention: THIS IMAGE BELLOW IS A SCANNED PORTION OF THE UPKEEP AND ONE PICTURE. THE RED STRIPE IS FROM THE POOR QUALITY OF THE NEGATIVE USED. gg
hy manager, from your picture it looks like you have a chemical problem . clean all chemical from your processor and try new chemical I think it may work. goodluck. best regard gg
manager
Thanks very much for your prompt reply! I excluded that chemical problem from the list because I did had wrong chemical mixing years ago and I know how it looks like, the stripe from the picture is just from the negative. And it happened too fast, after that click, I think something is stuck, a filter, shutter or something, but don't know how and where. You cannot see in this image but the yellow control rectangle just isn't there, not even misbalanced, just missing. I also tried to make color corrections to see if the blue cast is removable, so extracted 20 cyan and added 20 yellow: the result has been only a lower density blue cast, probably because I extracted cyan and added the missing yellow. Guest
true it is an AOM problem. I don't think AOM could be offered so cheap. Is it from China or used one?
manager
What is AOM? An electronic part but isn't there any mecanicals that can get stuck in the laser case? We have another Frontier 350 and that one has some moving filters in there. What if AOM isn't the only possible cause. In the morning I'll disasemble the entire section for checking. Christina Rose
Mostly Yellow missing because of AOM fault. off-course there is lot of other possibilites. but concern 340/330 i have seen many places AOM is the faulty one for missing colors in daily setup. anyway check any loose connection. AOM is not that much cheap like 450 US$. we have already in stock.
manager
So there should be an AOM driver fault. Are there one of them for each color? And where should that be, in what side of the Printer, up where the laser little fans are, on the side on that electrical boards, or else? manager
Another interesting thing is that I found that AOM Unit and it seems to be OK. I even disassembled it and put it back. i can see that the fan inside isn't working. does it start only when reaching high temperature? manager
Could this fan be faulty and the cause of the failure in the AOM?
Christina Rose
its better if you can interchange this doubtfull AOM with another frontier 330 or 340. this method will be more easy to confirm the fault. dont waste time.
