NeilT
This was an original post from the old forum by Andy. Fuji seem to be getting themselves a good reputation these days, a friend of mine in Australia recently recommended them and an engineer friend of mine in the uk said that their back-up and pos is amongst the best at the moment, also i have been very impressed with the speed and quality of their frontier range. SueLloyd
Hi Justin I've got a 330 Frontier and may be able to help. If you bought the equipment new then Fuji should provide you with all information you need. We have an IBM server running Windows NT and we are networked to a PC and MAC - what specifications do you need to know? Sue
justin
Hi Sue, I meant the computer specifications. Once the distributor technician asked me to use Intel P4-3.0 Ghz, 1GB memory, 120 GB SATA harddisk, VGA card such as ATI Radeon 9600XT/128MB and high speed SCSI CDRW >. Do we realy need such a high-end computer for Frontier server ? And one more thing, they also suggested me to use 3COM ethernet switch and they did not recommend other brand :-/! As I know the Frontier itselft using Intel Celeron processor ! Did Fuji clearly describe these needs? What about yours Sue? Thanks a lot ;D

Guest
Hi Its not quite as simple as putting a load of hardware together. You will need merlin software to communicate with the frontier, and this is installed via disk imaging, specifically for IBM labservers, ie Netfinity 5000, x220, x225 etc. regards Garyphot
tango
Hi guys, does anyone knows how to connect the 2nd server on to the frontier? cheers
Guest
Hi The easy way is to connect the frontier to the labserver directly with a network crossover cable and set up communications via TCP/IP.

tango
Hi guys, also if my Kiosks is the older type, can I add any more USB reader on it? & will I need a new software tin order to pick the drives up? thanks
simexc
Tango, back in around '95 IBM released OS/2 warp 4 , this was also codenamed merlin. I dont know if this is the same thing you are looking for. It may be cheaper if you find a copy of this rather then getting it from fuji. CPAC
Hi guys, also if my Kiosks is the older type, can I add any more USB reader on it? & will I need a new software tin order to pick the drives up? thanks Regarding DPC's (Kiosks) you can wire up or install Newer Style Multi Card readers via IDE or USB, we have done this 2 of our DPC's and they work a treat , the software also supports these drives. Cheers CPAC
