Kodak G4 Kiosk and SDHC 4gb

Anyone had slow/nil response from 4GB SDHC card in the SD reader of the G4? Mine seems to have difficulty and I have tried the reader with my Sandisk 4GB Ultra II.  However, the mini reader supplied with the card must, I think have an accelerator as when plugged into the USB port on the front response is as fast as a 512MB SD in the normal slot.  Any suggestions?

Unless you have had the firmware upgrade for the SD card reader, its not compatible with SDHC cards. If when you start your machine you look at the firmware versions installed you would need to see V7.49 for the card reader for it to read SDHC cards.

The plug in card readers that are SDHC compatible are the answer if you do not have the latest firmware.

So I will watch as the kiosk boots tomorrow and see what firmware is there.  Or..erm..do I need to hop out to Windows and get properties. Where would I get a firmware update or do I try and get a replacement SD reader from Kodak with the right firmware?

The replacement SD reader probably will not come with the latest firmware, just watch the display on starting teh kiosk you will see it list up all the devices and there firmware versions, alternatively once the kiosk has fully booted and ready to use, touch the  setup button and then diagnostics, i think its then health checks to see the list again.

The firmware would have to come from Kodak, but good luck getting it, they are reluctant to give it out, not sure the reasons.

Hi Robert,

wel checked the boot up and see against the SD card reader the number 7.47 which I take is the current firmware version.  Went into the diagnostic options and I see there is a download SMC firmware button (description may be incorrect here) but I am not online with the kiosk but perhaps this is how I might get it?  Or is it for America I wonder
