juan804041
When I try to add a QSS happened this error. I don't know what is wrong. I try with all the model on this list and with two QSS programs, with the 3302 and the 3202. Someone can help me? Thanks so much. Here the error. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKYLeo82QWA
Dave S
I have a feeling it is getting confused by all the different machines on the network. Try only having the one machine (QSS-33) connected when you try to register QSS-KIDS. You must use the same Main system Software CD as the QSS machine you want QSS-KIDS to work with. For Example QSS-33 Ver 7 Kids must also be QSS-33 ver 7 You cannot use the CD for a QSS-32 to run QSS- KIDS when the machine you want to connect with is a QSS-33 for example
juan804041
I Know that, thanks, but keep the same mistake. Here is a new video about the error.. The configuration of both CPU is this. Both: XP SP3 Both: QSS 3302 v7.02 Both: Firewall of Windows Disabled Both: WorkGroup = SAME Terminal CPU: QSS-Kids Something more? Thanks Here a picture about the version.. Both, the QSS-Kids and the NORITSU 3302 use the same QSS Version.
Dave S
I noticed the QSS-3302 is running Windows XP? Normally it runs on W2K. Has the Motherboard been changed from standard? Maybe this the issue? Are these actual machines or is it some kind of simulation? Have you tested it with just the QSS-3302 connected and the other machines unplugged from the network? What is the spec of the PC running QSS-KIDS? Maybe a modern multi core processor is not compatible with the QSS software. It's not an error I've ever seen before, very strange. juan804041
I don't believe that the machine configuration is the error, but is possible that my installation is wrong. My installation was also. 1 - Install windows XP SP3 and every driver's 2 - Disabled the Firewall 3 - Install QSS-Kids 4 - Install QSS v7.02 5 - Restart the computer And the last one, try to add a QSS printer to the list. ( But with error ) Questions. 1 - Do I need to install the Profile for the QSS on the QSS-Kids machine? 2 - Do I need to upgrade some backup or configuration of the other QSS machine? 3 - Can someone here write the "step by step" for to install the QSS and the QSS-Kids, if I was doing wrong the installation? 4 - Are there some extra configuration on the both machines? QSS and QSS-Kids. Thanks.
Dave S
Yes you need to need to install the Profile for the QSS on the QSS-Kids machine, but this will not cause the error you are having. Backup should be done automatically when QSS-KIDS is communicating properly. As I remember the KIDS PC had to be Intel based not AMD. (This may have been only on early versions of the software). If you have an old P4 computer kicking around it may be worth testing it with that just in case. juan804041
I had the same problem with Windows2000 and with a Intel Processor. The PC is a Intel P4 3Ghz and 1GB of RAM with 80GB of HDD - ASUS P5PE-VM-. My installation was: 1 - Windows 2000 2 - All Drivers 3 - Restart the PC 4 - Install the QSS-Kids 5 - Install the QSS 6.02 for 3202SD (That is my Noritsu Model) 6 - Restart again the PC. 7 - Start the QSS-Kids program. 8 - and the last one, try again to add QSS print server, but with the same error. What is wrong? :'( What I need to do? Some configuration on the network? Some folder shared? Some PC especial configuration? Some especial configuration on QSS Some register Edit? Or what? Dave S
Have you shared the folders on the QSS-KIDS PC? Have you set the net folder registration on the QSS to the QSS folder located on the KIDS PC? Have you tried it with JUST 1 QSS machine connected on the network? ON the QSS-Kids PC the following folders need to be fully shared:- Bkdata QSS Kidschk Upload These folders are located in C:\noritsukoki\Qss-kids\Data To share a folder right mouse click it, choose sharing, share this folder, click permissions allow everyone full control, read & change. Depending upon which version of Windows you are running the above instructions will be slightly different. The Kids PC needs to be running Windows 2000 or Windows XP. From the QSS- printer the above folders need to be accessible, you should be able to add and delete files freely in the shared folders. For the net folder registration it should be QSS kids, and the folder needs to be QSS (located on your kids PC).

The cause of this issue is the OS for the QSS printer (QSS-3302 in this case) must be running Windows 2000 for QSS-Kids to communicate properly. It will not work with Windows XP despite the fact the printer will run without any issues on Windows XP.
johncord
I had qss kids running on xp with qss 32 without fail , I presume it should run smoothly with 3302 and xp

QSS Kids will run happily on Windows XP, But the printer PC (QSS 32 in your case) must be running Windows 2000. The OP (juan804041) had changed the operating system on his printer PC (QSS 33) from Windows 2000 to Windows XP, this is what caused the problem.
