is this the mothrboard fitted http://www.motherboard.cz/mb/asus/p2b.htm ?

The Si-2000 is the Noritsu version of the scanning & input station.

No the motherboards in the Si-2000 are P3 so are different.

If it is the board in the picture you can try a motherboard with the same chipset (intel440BX) it may work.

Maybe this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Intel-44.....;hash=item35ad08b845

Ok I've looked at the manual more closely now!

There were 2 types of motherboard fitted to both the MP-1600 and the Si-2000.

1. is the ASUS P2B with a P2 333 processor http://www.motherboard.cz/mb/asus/p2b.htm

2. is the DFI CB61 with a Celeron 433 processor http://www.motherboard.cz/mb/dfi/CB61.htm

board 1 has a P2 slot. Board 2 has a P3 type slot so the processors are not interchangeable between the 2 boards.

You can certainly use a Pentium 3 processor in place of the Celeron processor on the DFI CB61 motherboard.

From what the manuals says I presume so!

As far as I know the MP-1600 is the same on both the 2711 and 2721.

Either motherboard could be fitted on the MP-1600 from manufacture.

I'm not entirely sure what the difference is between the 2711 and the 2721.

I'm guessing the 2711 has Windows NT4 and the 2721 has Windows 2000 on the workstation computer.

You'll know more about the difference than me! ;D
