Paper-clutter in the dryingzone

Recommended Posts

When remaining length of paper reaches about 15m the photopaper just clutter in the dryingzone.

And we have no clue why this happens. Do you ?

Machine is cleaned properly to standard provided by Noritsu.

Does anyone know a solution for this issue.

Temperature in the dryingzone is about 65 Celcius

Machine: qss-3001

I'm not understanding what you mean by 'clutter'. Rack is jumping?

Make sure the rack is free to turn by hand, lubricate the chain if necessary, sometimes the black bushes also need a small amount of silicon grease on them to make the rack turn nicely.

Do the prints get jammed in the dryer?

Does this happen on all sizes of print?

Have you tried lowering the dryer temperature? say 55-60oC.

Is the condition of the No.7 crossover rollers good, as these should remove most of the STB before going into the dryer.

There's my flaw ... English isn't my native language ....

Yes the prints get jammed in the dryer when there's about 15m paper left in the mag.

No the NO. 7 crossover is in a very bad condition and need exchange. Even I can see that.

I'm just the "dude" helping a friend out looking for some good tips and this forum is the hammer on the nails head.

My friend runs his own shop with a qss-3001 minilab. And like many who finished paying of the minilab have cancelled his servicecontract. The company servicing the Noritsu minilabs in Denmark really didn't figure that shops with minilabs had to endure the financial crisis too. They just thought they could make "business" as usual or at increased rates.

Just to give an example.

That "silly" lightbulb for the scanner: €216,-

I'll give all readers some time to collect yourselves and put everything where it's supposed to be again after that shock.

We're looking for good places of spareparts new and used (depending on what parts we talk about).

His not the only one in this boat so there's a couple of "colleagues" that team up to make their own solution to fight this level of greed.

But I know where in the market for some new rollers for the no. 7 crossover (most likely all, as they've gotten pretty hard over time/years).

Most of his stuff is 10x15.

So if anyone of you have tips where one can get Noritsu spare parts at "reasonable" prices we're all ears.

In this regard .... it would be nice to have a service manual to be able to see what exact part-number these rollers have.

So if anyone has one in PDF or any other electronic form/shape etc. .... pm/mail etc.

There you got me roling .....

Any tips on what those rollers cost approximately would be quite valuable.

Dave I/he ows you a big pint or whatever you endulge in.

I'll dump a mail with pictures box 6 and 7 .. and you'll understand how well your reply fit my question

Most likely two fixes with one reply .. that's pretty good.

Hell you can all see ... we do know they have to be exchanged. We didn't know what they could cause !!

Now we're a bit wiser (I am/ he will be in monday morning)

Box 6: rollers is just hard !!

Box 7 ehm (I'll give him that lecture. Firstly next time get in touch ASAP)

Once again Dave THANKS A LOT

QSS-3001 Manuals here:

http://www.zshare.net/download/76960032ed769cec/

60mb Zip download

Service &  Parts for both printer & processor, Trouble-shooting & Error Messages, and S-1200 scanner.

These are extracted from the full Noritsu CD which is about 420mb.

If you don't have a Password FD then you'll  need a Noritsu Password generator, this is attached here..........simply unzip the .exe to your desktop and place a s/c in the Programs > STARTUP folder. Creates a unique number for each day. Your QSS date/time setting must be correct.

I really got what I asked for .... OH my .... quite a few pages of reading there.

Just another dumb question:

Is there a simple way to print/make a text-file report of the current settings of the qss-3001 in hour case.

Something like:

This is qss XXXX ver. B

I'm currently setup like: followed by a long list of parameters.

Something like that would be nice having around when "browsing" the service-manual

Again ... thanks a heap for that manual and keygen.

The files  uploaded did not include the wiring diagrams nor Operator Manuals.

I've since uploaded:

Basic Operations

Additional Operations & Setup

  • and

Editing Manuals, in case these are not present on site with the QSS.

(about 27mb)

As Dave S says, imperitve you back-up before you explore and make any changes, be warned tho' not all changes to some data is reversible.

Owner should backup to FD every nite, we use two sets of disks. One is for daily, the other done weekly just to be sure....to be sure.  Replace the  the FD's at least once per year.

It's cheap insurance, only takes a couple of minutes to save, and likewise a few minutes to recover if it all goes "pear shape".

We have 2 sets of floppies, one for ODD numbered days, one for EVEN numbered days, and we backup floppies to our NAS every month from another PC, and you'll see that the floppies WILL backup successfully, but may NOT be readable.

We also do full system backups before and after every major (sometimes minor) change to the Noritsu, and back them up to our NAS..... JUST IN CASE....

I did not read all posts (replies here) but as per as cluttering it is because now a days glossy paper is thin as compare to matte or luster and because of this when paper roll comes to an end, it curles more. Better reduce the dryer temprature from 65 to 55 and it will be OK.

If youhave any technical question regarding and digital machine avaialable in the market, you can write to me.

No there is not any way of making a text file of all the current settings.

Best thing you can do is make an 'All Data' backup in service mode BEFORE you start playing with any settings!  ;)

I will not only do that .... I'll make an Image of the harddrive to another one and a split one to brun on DVD.

then I will make an "All Data" backup in Service mode ...(and that backup will have a second copy too).

Then I'll start fumbling around :)

(but first there's about 900+ pages between me in fumbling around ;)  )

Yeah ... forgot to remind what paper his using ... (It's fuji and it's not the basic one ... but the good one). If you pro's can make anything out of that ROFL.

Basic reason .. he wants quality all the time and he avoids exchange of paper all the time :)

And as in all businessaffairs .. there's nothing like a repeat-sales because of satisfaction with the quaility.

But how he made things work until now with "very bad rollers" in box 7 is past my understanding.
