Using 26xx magazine in a 3011

Hi.

My Noritsu tech just told me that I can't use 26xx magazines in a 3011 because they won't guarantee that the paper won't skew in the machine.

I heard that there is a simple 'modification' that can be done on the 26xx magazines to fix this issue.

Any ideas?

Your Noritsu tech is correct.

On the 3011 magazines one of the exit guides are sprung on one side, on the 2611 they are not sprung.

If you don't intent to do bordered prints with the 2611 magazine, you can probably use the magazine without any modification.

The part numbers for the 3011 magazine guides are:-

We use a number of QSS26 paper magazines in a different QSS30 & QSS33 for a years without a problem, but we never attend to print with the borders.

Just a thought, 2611 mags are getting quite elderly now (unless buying new, when you just as well buy the 'right' one) and posing their own problems. I have 8, with 3 displaying usual wear and tear problems.

yes - we have 'aging' problems as well with my 27xx magazines.  We have 'cannibalized' some to repair others.

The point is that we can get the 26xx magazines for under $50 each.
