Sensor adjutment error

Has anyone tried to remove the sensor covers in a 2611 neg mask?

We are completely out of order with this, no matter how much air dusting and cleaning, I have been unable to perform a sensor adjustment for some time and now it will not work att all.  I believe I can see the guilty sensor however I can not get in to clean it.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

you need a service disk to enter service mode. i service mode you can do the sensor sensitivity for ANM.

I have the service disk but it will not allow me to perform this and alarms.  Quite frustrating.

The sensors are located on the lid of the mask; you need to remove the block from the mask lid (4 screws). However the DX sensors are normally fitted using special screws, the reason being they have to be re-aligned once they have been removed.

It may just be a poor connection on the ribbon cable going to the sensor block.

Often the problem is on the LED side. To get to the DX sensor LED's, remove the 2 screws from the black plate on the underside of the mask, then remove the 2 screws that hold on the circuit board, the LED's are attached to the circuit board just give them a clean.

If the glass cover is milky, easiest way to remove it for cleaning is to poke a blunt pin (rub the sharp end of the pin on a nail file etc) through the hole where the LED's go into.

It’s the same procedure to get to the LED for the sprocket hole sensor.

Sometimes the LED's get weak, and don’t produce enough light for the sensors to operate properly.

thanks for the info, i'm pretty sure its the sprocket hole LED sensor.  What happens when they are too weak?  Is it a replacable part?

Forgot to mention I am unable to budge the screws and i'm afraid of stripping them.  Have to get a good strong lad with a bit of elbow grease to have a go for me !!

Just make sure the screwdriver fits properly, it's closer to a phillips screw rather than a posidrive screw.

LED's are pretty easy to get hold of, it would have to be soldered in though.

Normally if it's the sprocket hole sensor, it will keep saying "check neg jam" every time the negative advances.

Having correct fitting screwdriver probs at the mo.  All mine are Phillips but not quite right and i don't want to damage them

Not sure I like the sound of the soldering, never done it before.  Hey ho ...always a first time!  If I can get screws out of course.
