2901 scanner repair

Anyone have any experience with having the 2901 scanner repaired. Is there anything that can be done in house.

Hi. I have repaired these scanners few times ( the last one I have repaired two weeks ago ,more than  3000 km from my home )  , but only when scanners  had deffected  electronic board . What kind of problem do you have ? If scanner don't work at all ( you dont see signal in swing - tilt adjustment menu ) in this case  will be defected board inside scanner. This board has part number , but it is not orderable from Noritsu. If you are experienced electronic service engineer you can try to fix it. Remove scanner from minilab , remove cover . To prevent zoom demage I usualy disconnect zoom motor connector . Then put scanner on the minilab table ( in horizontal position ) and connect them to minilab and then you can start repair them. To see how scanner work I use external light source and messure signal. If scaner has deffected  zoom driver for tests I connect external stepper motor and start to repair driver circuit ( if external motor will not stop will not happend nothing and if will not stop original zoom motor it will demage zoom ) .

If your scanner has mechanical fault ( for example it was droped ,  has incurve or mirrors are  out of position ) it will be allmost inpossible to fix it . After mechanical faulty usualy scanner is working , but digitall ICE doesn't work correctly.
