2901 SCANNER LIGHT SOURCE PROBLEM

Hello Guys... Here I am with a new problem, let me explain...

After a computer problem, I reinstalled my Windows and the 2901 system. Before this, all worked well but after the described process was done, two problems appeared.

1) the printer doesn't sort prints every 50 units.

2) a couple of errors appear when I want to change the scanner lamp or update the light source... here are the details:

- After some seconds that the scanner "light source is being registered" process begins, error 6316-0077 appears and the process stops.

- After some seconds that the "scanner lamp change" begins, 6313-0072 appears and the process stops.

- if I decide to do a "light source update", several seconds after the 6316-0077 error appears and the process stops.

I clean the lamp unit very carefully but the problem was not resolved. Neither changing the lamp with a new one. Neither resseting the printer and the computer.

I checked the lamp power supply, it had 24 volts so I rise it to 27.5 volts but no change was verified.

Any idea? remember that all was working well before the system was reinstalled. I guess that I am doing somthing wrong in the installation process. I did it installing the K system disk and then I run the floppy disks which belongs to this printer.

you can try to reinstal the initial data 1 (but i'm not sure) for the scanner. If is not good try the registred light source => service tech menu ,for each AFC,MMC

after make the focus for each AFC,MMC ,but you need tool ,only the tech have it !!!!

Was the PC unit removed from the machine?

It may just be bad connections for the LVDS cable.

When the software was loaded, did the machine upgrade all the different PCB

Hi Friends...

Frenchman: I will try with the right floppy disk tomorrow. I will use a disk from another 2901 printer.

Dave: the PC wasn't removed and the used floppy disks were the original ones. During the installation, no errors appeared. The procedure that we done was as follows:

1) we installed the Windows 2000.

2) we installed the K002 version 2901 software.

3) we run the original floppy disks.

4) we shut down the program and replace the folders (Noritsukoki and NKData) with older ones (backup) that we know that work well (those are of the same K002 system).

We do so to don't waste time inserting all the print channels, papers and various settings.

I will check the LVDS cable connector tomorrow... let's see.

Hello Friends... I solved the problem.

Just to test, I exchange the computer with another 2901 computer but the problem continued.

So, I decided to check cables and connectors related with the scanner before exchanging electronic cards with similar ones taken from another 2901. The second cable of the scanner (from top to bottom) makes a "click" when I pushed it! nobody knows why it happened but this was the problem: the connector was badly connected so an almost mechanical matter was the real problem.

Thank you Dave and Frenchman for your help... but don't worry, I will come back soon with another problem!
