Dead 18.2 gb scsi....2721

Recommended Posts

It doesn't have to be anything except a 64 pin scsi interface... ANY hard drive will do....The 18 gig is the archive drive... and mine is a 75 gig seagate. Just format, name and drive letter it in disk manager from the computer management screen in the control panel of windows and it will work... I suppose it really doesn't even have to be SCSI. All the software cares about is it's drive letter really.

If you are trying to do it with the recovery disk.... then it needs to be a SCSI device on the IBM SCSI board. But as long as it's at least 18 gig, the recovery disk will care NOT. Lets say you have a 36 gig... once the recovery is done... Then go to Control panels computer management disk management and resize the partition to 36 gig and it will use all the disk and work fine. BTW I do have some disks that will work and have little or NO hours on them. I'll see exactly what I have...
