Try cleaning the sensors first, next would be wiring/plugs. I have had some report errors and cleaning fixed them. I hope this helps...... if not let us know well think of something else.

Retired Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 I don't think that translated well........ what is the exact error message? Maybe even in your native language? If the board will post is as it appears? Is there an error #? The numbers should be the same for any language.

This is a procedure by which Noritsu techs unplug and replug anything that is associated with the arm. Could be just a bad contact at plug # such and such. And this plug and pray is not meant to put down any techs ... It is a real procedure that would be the next in the diagnosis. ;D
Dave S Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 Plug and prey. LOL I like that one! A bit like working with Windows Vista then! I think what Benachour is trying to say is the MP-1600 will not boot up. If you remove the front cover of the MP-1600, somewhere inside there should be the MP-1600 motherboard. Connect a PC monitor to the graphics card so you can see what the PC is doing (if it's doing anything) It may be a problem with the hard drives. Also try the plug and prey method as above!

I would reload the software on the old drive first. that might bring it back up. Can you use the original program floppies to format and load a new drive? Like replace the drive and start with the 1a floppy in the disk drive?

I've used it to fix bad spots on the scsi drives and it can save you a bunch of time and trouble. http://www.grc.com/spinrite.htm If you have to reinstall windows and DLS ...........NOT FUN!
dcmex Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 i have probleme in the PC of MP 1600 the memory of pc is dawn message apparaisse in the monitir C;&> help mi . your flash rom is damage, you need to change a flashrom and maybe your hard disk, normally the first boot on the machine is in flashrom then go to hard disk, like say another guy here, if you have one image of your drives just restorit, if no, you must be buy a flashrom, i dont think that your hard drive is damage

photocorp Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Re formatting Hard Drives: These days I format stand alone using a USB 3.5" ext HD unit. They're cheap and you can use your laptop or tower via Administrative Tools to do the job easily. Simply bung the drive into the device, format, partition as required, remove the HDisc and then install into the QSS. There are all sorts of handy PC cable gizmos and adapters out there now for doing the same thing. USB/SATA, USB IDE/ATA etc You're not in the dark trying to partiton and format in the background of your QSS printer. After formatting you can then (hopefully) execute a normal recovery. Of course SCSI drives are another issue on their own. Any negative comments about this procedure? Greg.
