Mr Noritsu
The scary thing is that I was working for Kodak when that as was running!!!! And signing up new members by the armful. Now I don't work there anymore, but I am still a very happy KEX member in Adelaide whose business is growing in a number of areas. Great stuff Kodak, just a shame the momentum could not be maintained.
kioskguy
Love the machine in the background - was that an early version of Apex? Apparently there are some Kodak Express shops around still that still have those '80's shop fittings and overall look. Like the video - would be a real blast from the past

NeilT
does anyone know which country this was used in?
Dave S
I reckon Australia, as the guy who said he remembered it is from there. Ah yes the warship grey Kodak machines of the late 80's! Great advert!
Colopt
Yes I remember that ad being played here in Australia. I was working in a Kodak Express outlet in the early 90's and had to wear a bright yellow jacket and red tie. Not a good look, even then! You can see a guy in the background wearing something similar. I have to say that I'm not sorry those days are over.
aussiecameras
They were great days. They were Australian ads and were run nationwide around the David Bickett era. Drove the people into the stores for sure ! We still run continual TV in our area as a group effort between all of the dealers, Kodak, our Kodak wholesaler and the people who run our marketing group. I wish we had the budget to make an ad like that!

Mr Noritsu
Bloody oath, I'd forgotten about the Yellow jacket! I had to wear the Canary jacket to a trade show at the Melbourne Hilton for a KEX launch! Yuck! Would be great to get em back on, but there aren't enough KEX stores to make it worthwhile. kioskguy
Create a Print machines (they were ahead of their time) but who remembers their foray into making their own minilab? Was it the System 20 - a space age looking contraption that never worked properly. Think they ended up taking them all back and tipping them. aussiecameras
I think the System 20 was a KIS machine and then the Kodak badged machines were Copals and then they were Noritsu. It was a bit tough, Agfa bought Copal and eventually Noritsu went into bed with Fuji. There were lots of things where Kodak were ahead of the times. Does anybody remember the consumer print scanners where you would feed the prints in. Must have been the early 90's and they didn't sell! But what do we sell every day now, the same sort of thing. They had wireless cameras before there were enough wireless networks. All sorts of fun!
NeilT
I think a KEX 2012 should re do this for a bit of fun
