this week i have noticed that when i have developed my films, especially the under exposed one they are getting quite alote of brownish spots on the films, the normally exposed ones seem fine.the films in them self are developed perfectly it just for some reason i am getting these spots on them.when printed they are very noticeable, i've attached a sample.

if any one can suggest anything please email me at fotomart@btconnect.com or reply on here.

thanks

These could be drying marks, they could be PINHOLES though too!

If you are having too large of a temperature differential between processing baths you'll get purple pinholes (usually smaller in size though) on the film.

If they are just drying marks, not sure why they are so magenta, maybe just an off color balance you've corrected out is accounting for the shift.  Normally drying marks show up as off-white.

I'd check the temperature of your baths (water washes especially, or could be bleach or fixer) can definitely cause this, you're basically seeing spots where the emulsion has popped due to rapid change of temperature.

P.S. if you can clean them off the base (or emulsion, use care on the emulsion though!) they are not pinholes but water marks and you need to deal with dryer temperature squeegees etc.  PRobably would be easiest just to physically see if the marks can be removed.  If they can or are on the base then they are NOT pinholes.

Totally agree. If the whole problem is outlined from symptoms to solution the forum becomes a resource that can be searched to find the answer to almost anything.

It should be compulsory to finish each post off with the solution !

Do feel free to start a new thread re this and open it up for discussion  :)

Only just seen this-

I try to finish any threads like like this with the solution. By not doing so rather defeats the whole point of the forum.

So please everyone, if you have a problem and it is resolved please let us know how- someone else WILL benefit- THAT I PROMISE  :)
