philspectrum
The EXR sensor in fuji's higher end compacts is simply stunning. My finepix F200 EXR is the vest camer. I have ever owned, and it is over a year old now, don't know what superseeds it. Panasonic are a wonderful surprise too. Phil
kioskguy
Panasonic would be my choice. Excellent face recognition, great in low light. I can see why everyone raves about them
NeilT
well I have ended up with a Samsung for my sins. Its only for snaps and some video, and so far so good I do have two Cannon DSLR kits, but wanted something lightweight rather than the full kit. pskaro
From Canon (as the company that I work for is also Canon distributor) I would recommend S95 or G12, but the price is twice the money you are talking about Good S95 review: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/q42010highendcompactgroup/ G12 review: http://www.photoradar.com/reviews/product/canon-powershot-g12-review?page=0%2C4&t=1288350909 Good (and little cheaper) would be PoweShot SX210 IS with 14X zoom: http://www.dpreview.com/news/1002/10020804canonpowershotsx210.asp Nice review: http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Canon_PowerShot_SX210_IS/ I just fully read this review and now I am not sure how good is this camera, but it looks very nice and it has a good build quality 8)
cecilh
If you are spending £150 in a compact camera it makes no differance what you buy, they are all good. Just the same as spending £15,000 on a car any make will be good. Well intentioned people will say one or another but it's just if you like the colour, 5 or 10x zoom etc
