For enlargements we've been using Clear Bags archival envelopes.  http://www.clearbags.com/

Much cheaper than white or manila envelopes.  

We're cheap so we don't add a chipboard backing, and have had no complaints.

AND the customers are in-and-out faster since they can see their photo without having to open the envelope at the counter like they used to.

but i find that when they are presented this way they`ll ask for a carrier bag
