nash
You`ll sell more mugs and t shirts if you did them yourself most of my customers require the photogifts in either 1 hour or 24 hour

philspectrum
Hi Nash I signed up to the above forum over a week ago and heard nothing, - then re signed up with a different e mail, - still no reply - do they still exist? AJLA
There has been very little activity on the forum recently and they have also been experiencing problems too. One of the members decided to get his own going as a result of the problems, there aren't a lot of members at present but they may all transfer themselves if the probs on the other site continue. However the forum has been taken over so they might get things sorted. Have a look at this one anyway http://subli.forumotion.com/forum.htm
nash
Hi Phil Yes the does still exist, im still using it but as AJLA stats it has been taken over by someone else

nash
AJLA on the subject of dye sublimation i`m nearing an end on my ink, i orginally bought my ciss bulk ink feed system from a company from China. Now the question is can i mix the ink with a different supplier
AJLA
Not sure Nash as i've not tried but I did a quick search on the forum http://www.personalisedprintingportal.co.uk/member/forums?func=view&catid=1&id=7836&limit=6&start=12#8462 I have'nt read it all but Tris does say something about not mixing. I understand that while pigment inks are ok to mix sublimation aren't. I am informed that you would have to flush out your system completely and start afresh. I was speaking to the guy from Mandev this morning and he also advised this.

snpysnps
Up early and browsing the web for something I saw Swains had recently, but the only mention I found was here http://www.instantphotogifts.co.nz/gifts.htm It was an interesting range of products from a company up in Wales who make insertable photo gifts. Nice presentation and from memory the pricing was OK. Definitely an easier way into photogifts than printers and heat presses - at least to start with. Anyone using this product yet? AJLA
Very interesting, do Swains no longer have the products?
geoff
I beleive it's a new line at swains. I'm ordering a few coasters this week to test the water, looks like a good, well packaged range though
fujilab
We were put on to them by the company that provides our marketing programme. There is enough there to cover all the popular lines in photo gifts except for tee shirts and mugs. I talked with Swains and they have not yet recieved stock but will be ordering when they do. The manufacturer also does a good selection of commercial quality counter mats that you can slip a 12''x16'' print into. We are going to team up with a local designer and offer package deals to local retailers. Definitely worth checking out.
AJLA
Oh you'll have to keep us posted on that one! good idea. I do a lot of subli stuff myself but there are one or two items I noticed in the range that I have stopped doig usually because of wastage but this would solve the problem. Can you let us know what you think when they arrive, it would be intersting to compare the costs of the two also. Thanks!
fujilab
I know some shops that are using the same marketing program we do already have the stock so will find out how they are going and report back. We were sent some samples and it is really well packaged so should sell well. I agree, will fix the wastage issue which has bugged us too. Also, we have lots of customers who leave it till the last minute to order which means we don't have the opportunity to batch up work. Very frustrating. kioskguy
These are called Adventa photogifts and made by Innovamill in Powys. I chatted with them after the morning session at the PMA business development forum last month. They were not there exhibiting, just getting a better understanding of the minilab market. I put our samples up and they ended up selling quickly. Like others have been saying, good quality and nice packaging. Seems to be just what we've needed
AJLA
I'm assuming they are a bit pricier than the subli items? When you take into consideration any waste, electric and testing times etc ...may be worth it. All my subli kit is on another floor and the pc that goes with it is only used for that purpose so it is a bit of a pain when only one item is ordered having to fire it all up, plus one day a week I am alone in the shop..if someone comes in for photogifts on the hour I can't do it so I do think it worth investigating
geoff
I received a few of the quickmat coasters from Swains today. underwhelmed - they've come with absolutely no packaging at all, so will need some creative thinking to display these. don't know if the same applies to the entire range
nash
i don`t know what you paid for these items but have a look at these https://www.my-accessories.co.uk/cart/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?cr=&usr=51F3691292&rnd=2393249&rrc=N&affl=&cip=92.10.211.152&act=&aff=&pg=splash
AJLA
Just had a quick look at the coasters, the price of these doesn't look too bad. I think I pay about 45p ea for a box of 40 at a time. Can these items be reopened to update the pictures or is it once its in its in?
nash
no AJLA i think when they are snapped shut they are very diffcult to get apart
geoff
the ones from swains (90mmx 90mm) were 46p so pretty cheap in comparison, but as I said no packaging.
AJLA
Good price but would want them to be packaged. They would be far more attractive if they were.
