coloursphotographic
With all the hype surrounding our great leader of late it got me wondering is gordon brown actually helping business.. I recall in a recent speech he made he said he would do all he could to help small business 'he would not walk by on the other side' ... so my question is has he helped your business lately.. also just heard on jeff randall this evening up to 100,000 people in this country are being thrown onto the dole every month and its set to continue.. Denis
I don't think his idea of a 'small business' is the same as ours!!
Tony.T
One more mention of the idiot Brown and my delete finger may be brought into action
Photographis
'Work Trials' is an interesting scheme run by the job center, which we are about to trial here. It seems it is a 'no-obligation' scheme which allows you to 'employ' someone for 3mths. and the job center pay their wages. Not particularly attractive for the unemployed, but is for us. Brown?? Thankfully I am not a political animal, but my sole comment would be to refer all to 'Animal Farm'.
Magenta
'Work Trials' is an interesting scheme run by the job centre, which we are about to trial here. It seems it is a 'no-obligation' scheme which allows you to 'employ' someone for 3mths. and the job centre pay their wages. Not particularly attractive for the unemployed, but is for us. We had this in the old days "work experience" had a guy who complained bitterly that we only employed him as cheap labour, he was never going to learn anything about the photographic trade bla bla. I was determined I could teach him something useful even though he screwed up daily, on things like leaving the lid off expensive paper in the dark room (I said in the old days) fogging paper etc. The only thing he took to was dip and dunking film and he would do that with no problems so he pretty much became our main man. Two weeks before the end of his trial he went off on one again about cheap labour and we would not be offering him a job, in the end he never came back from his lunch. We heard he had got a job at another lab, and when I met him some 15 years later he was still working for the same firm. Seems he walked out on us, saw a job at the job centre, got the job and started the following Monday. He has been processing film all that time so Pooh Pah no skills, he found what he was good at...... Wonder what he is doing now. I still like the idea of try before you buy, employing anyone these days is a risk. Now as for the original question, its a bit like Monty pythons what did the Romans do for us. In his case screwed up pensions, the building industry, banks....Oh sod it, life is too short

Magenta
Gordon Brown today announced that they are changing the Union Jack to a condom because it more accurately reflects the government’s political stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks and gives you a sense of security while you are been screwed
