Trevor brown
We Have 2, as Digital Printers go it is great customers prefer the quality to the 6800 printers. easy to use down time is a minimum 4 Kiosk linked to it and no real problems. We still run a wet process though for the Pro side and do not use a film scanner on the APEX
Nigel Edwards
We wanted to add a kiosk to our existing two and decided it would be cheaper long term to upgrade to Apex with three terminals. Very easy to use, low running costs, good quality prints. Staff and customers very happy but we also don't use it for negs and have heard of problems with the (optional) neg scanner. Lab monkey
I'm getting one in a couple of weeks, with the neg scanner, to replace my R1, what sorta problems have people encountered? And how bad IS the neg scanner on it?
helper
The initial problems with beta software and a shared sata bus connection on the hard drive , have all been sorted, so there are no problems now.
Dave R
We have one networked to three kiosks. It is also networked to a wetlab, a 2100 and a 7880. We also have three stand-alone kiosks with 6800s. Apex quality better than 6800s, 12x8 quality is very good indeed. Only problems are kiosk software related going kiosk to Apex to DLS wetlab. Both staff and customers like the Apex. c k shah
Has anyone completley stopped film processing and gone only for APEX?
Chris D
The film scanner connection issue was sorted out quite a while ago and is running well producing very good quality from negs. The new Ver 3 software for the Apex will allow: Direct import and EXPORT of images to an extrenal PC Direct output from Apex to LFP White borders for kiosk and Apex Black and White / Sepia from Apex New Satin Finish. This is being tested and is very easy to use and receiving good feedback.
