Photographis
At last the gouvernment unveil it's long awaited lifeline to dying towns the lenth and breadth of the country. I think we all expected some sort of inducement for small businesses to re-populate the High street, what we have is £6000,000 for Arts and Crafts Charities to fill the gaps left by the large chains. Thats really going to help the economy. More window dressing.
coloursphotographic
got any more details on this or were the details can be found? most charities pay no rates and very little rent on the properties they have might be worth converting/starting business to a charitable status they get about every grant going from local councils i have heard of groups getting up to 2 grand to buy computer equipment, a grand for display stands etc the list is endless..I can see a possible opening here were you could offer many local artists with framing services/ photo services..but would they pay for it...not sure on the rules governing charitable business's can you pay yourself a wage etc.. Photographis
Hmmm, unfortunately I think they have most of the loop holes covered now. After saying that, there was a charity based in Bristol that used photographic printing as it's earner. Unfortunately the large multiples killed it, from what I could gather from it's disheartened members. I heard about this on the BBC news this morning from about 6.00 am. I dare say there will be more coverage of this later in the day, or if you can be bothered you may find more info on the website.
QUICKPICS112
THE GOV LIKES TO SHOW THEY ARE TRYING TO HELP BUT ALWAYS GET IT WRONG AS THEY DONT KNOW WHATS BEEN GO ON INT THE HIGH ST FOR YEARS THEY HAVE LET A BOON TAKE PLACE IN OUT OF TOWN SHOPPING WITH FREE PARKING AND THEN LET ALL COUNCILS CHARGE LARGE FEES FOR TOWN CENTRE PARKING. INSTEAD OF WASTING MONEY ON ARTS AND CRAFT (WICH WILL NOT DO ANY OF US ANY GOOD) THEY SHOULD MAKE ALL SMALL BUSINESS 1500SQ FEET OR LESS RATE FREE AND LOAD LARGE BUSINESS TO MAKE UP THE SHORT FALL ,THIS WOULD MAKE HIGH STREETS MORE AFFORDABLE. Photographis
Just let me know when (I'll get the pasty's in!). Would love to have a play with your toys, but time off may be tricky, will have to see what can be done (mad scramble to catch up...), Oh yes, we've already talked about involving 'girls'. LOL. Remaining 'on thread' this lamest of lame idea from the gouvernment seems to have been completely swamped (maybe deliberately- I don't know, I'm not a politician, just sceptical) by the dirty tricks/smear fiasco. I don't understand why it has taken so many years for the Media to talk about something that has been so obvious for so long. Freedom of the press? which country? which planet? when?
