philspectrum
We have ran 4 Lucidiom kiosks for 3 years now. They have done us a great job, but recently there have been no upgrades and I feel that we may be missing out on the more lucrative sales opportunities. Our kiosks are just print preview and select devices ! Lets face it - we'd all prefere to print an A2 photo montage from an automated kiosk than a zillion 4x6 prints, and callendars that the customer designs have got to be easier money too. If you had your money again - what impresses you most about current offerings ? What would you invest in second time around ? comments welcome Phil
Karen
I have 4 lucidiums and am very happy witht he software - on the one hand its the same as all the other kiosks - to a certain extent its like learning a new printer - getting them to work how I want them to takes time and trouble. However its worth the hassle. I have heard that Noritzu are taking these kiosks and rebranding them as their own. They also do photobooks and we print these to a konica lazer printer that prints on ordinary paper at 220gsm and then we bind them useing the unibind system - this is just starting to take off and I'm very happy with this. I have had a look at the others on the market and so far havent found anything as good - would be interested if someone has! would get these again. on another subject - how about a spell check for us useless spellers so I dont look so stupid! photosave
We run a mix of Whitech and Lucidiom. The Whitechs are really good and we've now converted them all to Version 7 Creative which allows collages, photobooks and photo gifting. Thorughly recommend them for functionality and reliability. I like the look and feel of Lucidiom (we used to run V6 Agfa which was re-badged Lucidiom) however it had too many bugs and would often come up with errors part way through orders. cobhamcameras
I started with a whitech Kiosk 3 years ago and it got little use, then i bought a Kodak kiosk and instantly i had customers saying "they've got one of those kiosks like Boots" and then started using ours. I now have several kodak kiosks and they work well, although software is limited. If I was starting again i would look seriously at the HP system, it promotes everything and the software is ahead of most on the market. Has anyone got the HP system running yet? junglecad
River Kiosks are very good, the latest software incorporates photo Books and single photo Pages as well as all the red eye / calanders / colour control / Cd writing / instant function etc... I understand there is no additional charge for the PhotoBook software when buying new and if you have an old unit still in warranty the upgrade is FOC. I think at this time if you are not offering "instant" prints you are missing a trick

Fotofast
We run 6 kiosks on Whitech, 10 on Agfa, which is the easiest to use and in a week or so will replace two original EBoxes with the HP Photo Centre kiosks. They are an amazing experience if you have never used them. Look at this http://photoimagenews.com/Videos/myvideoplayer.html
cecilh
From experiance over the last couple of years, I would only buy Kodak. They are yellow and easy to use. We have a Photo Me linked to our lab and an instant one. Prices on them are 40p down to 20p. We also have a Kodak instant only with a single price of 49p. Customers make for the yellow one despite the price. Our best customer paid
Picture Perfect
We use the Lucidiom kiosks, they come fully loaded and have online support via my broadband line. If / when i need a new kiosk there is only one choice for me Lucidiom. My Customers use our kiosk's all the time without any assistance which is great. ;D

Picture Perfect
No Probs Nash I brought another kiosk last month an APM 2000 Lucidiom and Kodak dye sub printer for under 3k what a deal!!! Both brand new. And my customers can print 6x4, 5x7, and 6x8 instant prints without changing the paper in the dye sub printer. It produces 6x4, 5x7 and 8x6 prints and there is no changing of paper to worry about which others don't do from one printer. Fantastic value Tetenal! cecilh
I took my pen drive down to the mainland and had 6 differant prints made on differant manufacturers machines. I also made the same prints on our own Kodak G4 and Photo Me lab. When I got back I got staff and friends to judge their favourite prints. Our own G4 was the clear winner and I am pleased that some of them thought the Photo Me lab prints were best in some cases.
