Klick/Snapfish

I see that Klick is now offering Snapfish services. I'm sure that Jessops were producing all the Snapfish products and services through their main lab at least up until recently. Will be interesting to see if TruPrint stay around as I thought they were owned by HP?

Someone mentioned they heard that Klick may be putting HP Studio systems into their stores which may be where the tie-up is. We have a Klick nearby so I'm watching their strategy with interest as we always like to stay one step ahead of them. Anyone heard whispers?  ;)

Found information on the internet:

Harrier LLC, of Newton Abbot, works closely with high-street photo retailer Jessops and the online service, Snapfish, along with its own subsidiary, Truprint.

So Harrier seem to do work for Jessops and Snapfish and Harrier own the Truprint brand.

The Klick tie in to all this seems to be snapfish collect in store service, just went into a klick store to find this out! So by the looks of it Harrier prints and produces the work for snapfish and then if a customer selected collect instore, they would have selected a Klick store and then Harrier will ship the order to that store.

Because Harrier own Truprint I think they will still be around for a while, can't really say the same for Jessops.

Interesting 'cos Klick have their own huge lab in Scotland that I would have thought they'd want to keep busy. I know that they have installed some Indigos to print the books and gifts etc. Also, notice that Jessops are not offering Snapfish any more??? They were Picturehouse by Snapfish and now have created a new brand. Perhaps HP wants to be at 'arms legnth' in case anything happens?

Our nearby Klick is very busy with the kiosks always in use - and these are not 6p prints either. I think they have a good formula with mulitiple kiosks and the variety of photo gift options. Not seen any HP machines - our local uses a Photo-Me lab - which must be almost worn out now given their volume.

What a mission shipping all those orders around. At the online prices the courier would surely be worth more than the order? Not very good for the environment either  ;)

Jessops are now using CeWe which is why they are changing from Picturehouse to JPrints.

I agree, the Klick shops are busy and apparently doing well now they have repositioned themselves. We have one in our town and have developed a good relationship with the Manager and Staff who refer business they can't do themselves. It saves them the grief of orders not returning in time for birthdays etc.
