More information:

At last suddenly all failed and stopped transport process.

Technician came and had to change transport board. After that all working again, but sometimes

I get again "Bus Scan error". I lose communication with both feeders and I have to restart DKS

software.

Any ideas? Is a software problem? Or hardware?

PC power supply on the back off the machine, maybe, try to change it with good quality one at least 400W or more ?

Also check external feeder firmware and update it if necessary, it should be the same as internall and often that is not the case ;)

Thank you very much Perica.

You think that poor power maybe the cause rather a failure from the external feeder or other hardware or

software cause?

Sometimes even with no production, all quiet, suddenly this error appears on screen.

Most likely , the replaced board was in good condition , would be useful to test it again .

Sometimes an unstable power supply or a bad connection can lead to a false conclusion .

Maybe not a failure off the board, but erratic behaviour is possible ;)

Recently, one off my customer with refurbished DKS3 which he bought 6 month ago, had issue with blown main 10A fuse and after they phonned me I presumed that PC power supply is bad and that it was responsibile for blowing that fuse, so I sugested to change it, and after that they were able to start DKS application, but with some errors and it was not possible to print.

Using Team Viewer application I connected with a machine and start to do some tests on it, but what I found out was that each PCB is working just partially, some mottors were working, other not, some sensors were showing correct values, other like full sorter were ON without any picture on them, crazy situation !!!

At that point I knew that I have to go there (500km !!!) and probably it was going to be something really stupid or I have to replace every board in the machine !!!

On the end it turned out that when the person who changed that PS (friend off the owner) did not pluged in the additional 12V power connector (square one with 2 black and 2 yellow wires) which is also comming from that PS and 2 LED which shows +12V were a little dim and when I plugged in this connector everything was working normally and also this 2 LED now had proper intensity :D

So I travelled there (500km in one dirrection !!!), just to plug in one small connector !!!

Point of this story is that machine had +12V from molex connectors but that was not sufficent (at least not on DKS3) to power everything properly, also the old PS was not original one rather some chinnese crappy PS with very little weight in it ;)

Sorry for any typos in this text, but I am writting this on Symbian powered with no touch screen (I do not like it on mobile phone ;)), Nokia E52 ;)

About the cost : The transport board (refurbished) 910€ plus taxes, and you have to add technician time.

Don't you think is possible that external feeder can be the cause of this errors?

The error appeared (in the beginning) when I had large quantity of printings with external feeder.

Later appeared printing with internal feeder too (not too often), and sometimes when machine had no printing works, for

example, after all night, when arrive at the shop in the morning I open the screen and "surprise!" error, and

had to restart and wait to heat the chemicals.

Check external feeder firmware, you can try to unplug it and disable it off course if you suspect that it is causing the problems, but I would first change that PC power supply, also check 24V PS ;)

Today we checked  voltages from the pc power supply and all were ok.

We've re-installed from ghost all DKS software and still error from feeder Bus Scan appears

even not printing photos. (2 times this afternoon)

I think that problem could be in external feeder, possibly some of the feeder boards?

I have disconnected external feeder and I'll wait several days. If no error comes again

problem is the feeder, isn't it?

Yes, we did it.

I have the machine from past December and until April no problem, from that date came the error, and at last

transport board broken. And now after replace the transport board again the error.

I'll try with disconnected feeder.

After 2 days with disconnected external feeder and more than 2.000 prints no problem (for the moment)

so the conclusion is that external feeder is the problem.

As external feeder is not necessary I'll keep it in standby mode until we recover some money if not all my

profit will go to repair the machine!!

Hey there Studio001,

I should suggest, if PS is in good conditioning (like Pskaro is mentioning) to exchange your paper cutter CAN board of the external paper feeder unit.

It doesn't costs that much and it might causing your CAN Bus error.

Best regards,

Wallie

Hello, I'm here again, sorry for delay.

Yes, Pskaro we had a good volume of prints last weeks, but this week is weak  many people on holidays!

Bad times for Photoshops! Most are closing due reduced profits in crisis time, less prints etc etc. If you don't

have a LAB and deliver quickly your prints you don't survive. And thanks to others misfortune we have more

customers.

And Wallie thanks, is a good way to know if error comes from the board or the feeder itself.

After prints and prints and prints I didn't have any error after disconnecting external feeder.

Maybe connections problem in the feeder?
