Jorge63 Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 (edited) Hello, My 3501i has this problem; no black at all, just a dark gray. In some copies it's not very noticiable but it many ones it is, and the print looks washed out. This only happens in the prints, any part of paper exposed to room light gives an excellent black. Does the iBeam get old? Thanks in advance for any advice. Edited July 16, 2014 by Jorge63
kodak_service Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Please, load here a screenshot with colorimeter indications at measurement of daily test.
yustas Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 If you have good black on unexposed paper - condition of the chemistry is quite well. So it looks like your calibration plate is out of order...
Dave S Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 I have had the situation before where fogged paper was completely black, but printed images were bluish, the chemistry (CD) was the cause in this particular case. The only way to completely eliminate if the cause is a chemistry problem or not is to process and read a paper control strip. As Kodak_service has suggested a screen shot of the readings would be helpful. Need to know what the readings of the last step are.
Jorge63 Posted July 16, 2014 Author Report Posted July 16, 2014 (edited) Thank you all, Tomorrow night I'll send you the readings. The calibration plate is the one that came with the machine. Best regards, Jorge Edited July 16, 2014 by Jorge63
Jorge63 Posted July 18, 2014 Author Report Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) Hello, Finally here is the screen capture. I wish to hear from you, Jorge Edited July 18, 2014 by Jorge63
yustas Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 So you are lucky - as I wrote above the calibration plate is out of order. It means your iBeam is in working condition and expenses to make the lab to print fine is much less (if to compare with a repair/replace of the iBeam engine)...
Jorge63 Posted July 18, 2014 Author Report Posted July 18, 2014 Thank you very much kodak_service and yustas! Tomorrow I'll call the service. Best regards, Jorge
yustas Posted July 19, 2014 Report Posted July 19, 2014 No need to call to service - they will advise to buy the original expensive calibration plate.Ask "kodak-service" directly- he will help you with a calibration plate.
