Kodak 6800 "Ribbon Empty"

My Kodak 6800 shows ribbon empty although I put in a new ribbon and paper. I have updated the printer firmware to current and changed the ribbon rewind motor but to no avail. Any advice what to do next?

Friend removed the cover on the left side of the printer and check a small engine that is up and to the right, has a gear wears out and gives this message.

Hi, i have the same problem. changed the little motor and also the ribbon break clutch. When it make the ribbon check it will fail.

if I also brake the gear on the clutch with my fingers, the ribbon check works and I can then print normally. As I said, the complete unit with clutch and brake has been exchanged and actually works. When I test in the diagnosis program, it turns harder, just apparently not hard enough.
