When You Swap Aoms ..

Hello.

 

When you swap AOMS in the machine (3111) for diagnostic purposes.  Must you swap ALL the connectors or just the coaxial wires with the DNC connectors?  I got 2 different answers so I'm not sure which is correct.

 

After I swap them, what is the correct procedure on my machine to perform.  (Something about the polygon mirror resynching?)

Hello

 

First mark AOM driver of RED channel as 1, of GREEN channel  as 2, of BLUE channel  as 3.

We  also recommend to stick any labels to the cables (1-IN 1-OUT; 2-IN 2-OUT; 3-IN 3-OUT)

In such case you never misuse it them.

 

Then disconnect the cables from the driver which you want to check and remove it from its place.

After that disconnect the cables from any near driver and also remove it from its place.

 

Now you have to change the AOM drivers by their places (swap) and connect all cables back by connecting them as it was before remove. For example:

If you put AOM driver # 2 on the place of AOM driver #1 so you should connect cables 1-IN and 1-OUT to the AOM driver #2 and vise versa.

 

Run the lab.

 

See for any errors suffix (for example: you had before swapping error code Sychrosensor error 6073-0001  and swapped AOM driver of red channel with AOM driver of the blue channel , and after swapping you have 6073-0003 - it means AOM driver of the red channle is dead)  and take actions.

AUTO TUNING is a feature designed to adjust laser condition in lasers of type A1 (qss30-31) (in certain cases it helps to return laser module to the working condition). But is just give you a short delay in laser repair.

Do not try to perform it too often.

Costa here ;-)

The AOMs are interchangeable. So I assume you are having a problem with color shifting.

So swap all the wires to a different AOM and run you lab.

If you get a different color shit (or error message), then you can isolate your bad AOM.
