White Line On Large Prints

Hi,

 

Some days ago our Frontier 550 started to make a white line on 12 inch prints, on one side of the print only.

Please take a look at the picture attached

 

This seems not to be a scratch. Do you have an idea of the problem ?

How is the paper movement? Do you change the anti dust filter regularly? If this happened only on 12" prints, maybe there is a dust on the glass

No, it is not dust. If it was dust line should be straight. Now can be scratch on paper, or line is noise coming from image box. Try to print on different role of paper, which put to other paper magazine. This way you can eliminate paper and paper magazine. Also try on wide paper print some test from minilab software. Tests do not go through image box. 

If no changes will be scratch in printer.

The problem happens with two different paper magazines (12'' luster and glossy)

The line is in the same direction as the paper movement.

The picture attached is already a test pattern print...

 

I'm quite sure this is not a scratch, and it is not visible of pure white or pure black prints

I had a similar line once.  Turned out to be a small thread caught under the laser unit.  The air from the laser caused it to move around, and that is why the line was wavy and not straight like it usually is.

Thank you, it actually was a small dust in the subscan unit. everything clear now !
