Noritsu Qss 3300 Software Instalation

Hello, i need to reinstall my software at QSS 3300, could anyone write me step by step the installation proces ?

At first i have to install windows 2000 professional sp4.

After that will i need to install some drivers , or just the qss 3300 software?

How to transfer the data from previous hdd ? I don't thin about system clone, i need the new installation.

Before re-installation go to service mode and make full service data backup there ( to HD ) . Then run recovery CD. This way you get all - Windows, drivers and computer configurations. Then install latest service pack. After that install system software ( for example 8.01 version ) . After restart all boards will be updated. Install profile data ( for example version 7.19 ) . Then install all optional software ( can be many correction, long length and other ) . Then run Noritsu software, go to service mode and load backup. All settings return and you can work as you worked before.

What is reinstillation reason ? In most cases black or blue screen, system file error and many other can be solved without it.

thank You  Minilab Service for answer , the reason is that i would try change the minilab computer to faster. One more question, hot to get in to service mode ?

To access service mode go to menu and press F and -1 on small keyboard ( or F1 and F9 on big ) . Than enter password. If you have service floppy password 2260. Without service floppy password depends on date. Use daily password calculator to find it.

When you in service mode go menu, extension, maintnance, read write data, service data, write all data to HD. This way you have backup. Copy backup folder to some safe place and later you can load it.

If you use faster computer you can't use recovery CD. Can try do following. Delete Noritsu icon from startup ( Start menu, programs, startup ) . Clone old hard disc to new ( with Acronis ) . Then put new HD to new computer. Start it in save mode. Might be it will start and you can install missing drivers. Can be you have restart computer. Can do it to normal mode. When all drivers will be installed can run Noritsu software. If all well go to trash box and restore Noritsu icon.

If Windows first time can't start in save mode have put W2k PRO CD, boot from it and on second choice choose Windows repair. Run it and Windows will be reconfigured for new computer. Then install all drivers and can restore Noritsu icon ( from trash box to startup ) . Pay attention that not all Windows CD have repair function. I have version, which can do it.

Other choice to install all as I wrote on previous message. Just instead recovery CD install Windows 2000 PRO, make computer configurations manually and find all drivers. Do not worry about LVDS and ARCNET drivers. They will be installed with main software and after restart computer find them.

Thanks for answers, my old computer is very slow, p4 3.0 2 gb ram, i've changed hdd to ssd by special adaptor, but ide is not fast as sata, I have big resolution files more often than some years ago to make photos, so i decided to buy the motherboard with pci slots for noritsu cards, com port, mouse and ps2 keyboard port which is also needed, and more ram memory , faster processor.

Faster CPU & motherboard helps a lot, but bottleneck will still be image processing board.

See if you can pre-process images to smaller size BEFORE sending to the Noritsu.  This will help a lot more than you think.

We have kiosk system that re-sizes images to actual pixel dimensions of print size, so original 18MP jpg shrink down to 2-3MP and QSS software can load faster for PJP and send to image processing board faster.  We can easily do 600-800 4x6 prints an hour -- I forget actual speeds, but it's fast.

 

If we try to print from 18MP jpg, it takes a LONG time to load for PJP, and for the image processing board to receive/shrink/print them -- around 60-90 prints per hour -- we have 5 year old Intel Core 2 Duo CPU @ 2.8GHz(?) with 4GB RAM and 60(80?)GB SATA HDD -- actually had to replace the CMOS battery 2 weeks ago!

Hello. This minilab has not image processing pcb. All image processing inside computer. Faster motherboard and processor will increasing speed. Of course speed will be limited up to printer.  

SSD on old motherboard can't help. Old Ricoh motherboard has only IDE connectors. When you use IDE - SATA interface speed is lower than with IDE connected directly.

i've bought the Intel Pentium g2130 , which is in single core speed processing fast as Intel i3. 4 Gb ram is enough, system see only 3,8 gb, but the ssd hdd can make good improvement of speed.

Any other processor i think will not make faster speed of image processor, because i5 and i7 have single core fast as intel g2130 and much more expensive.

One more more question, is th DSA part of original software ? I have red eyes , curves, order controll and more, but don't have DSA ?

I' m looking for the front panel (power, reset , etc switch and led) connection diagram, almost is the same like qss 3001  but i have two cables left ?

Front panel connections are not showed on diagram. There just see SW/LED PCB connected with CN3.  I think have trace where go your cables and wires. Can use multimeter.

Minilab service, the power and reset switch, power led and hdd are the same as qss 3001 , i have still two cables left , but i think they are not important, the timer works on com port, so the minilab switch on and of on the time. I tried to change motherboard and processor to the newest ivy bridge system, but without succes. There is the problem with chipsets driver under win 2000. So on saturday i will make the second attempt with Core 2 duo E8400 , and asus motherboard , which has the driver for win 2000 on cd in standard option.

Take multimeter and can see where they are connected. If Noritsu software version is new try run it on Windows XP. Didn't try on this model, but many other minilabs with new software version work well.

8.01 is the latest and no software was released after it.

It has less amount of bugs and more stable.

I think it worth buying.

Hello. I do not see big difference between 7.02 and 8.01. 8.01 was released after 7.02. Have both versions.

Everything runs good despite the printer driver, i turned off the firewall on both computers, when i install printer driver , program see the ip from minilab, but doesn't work. Any ideas?
