System 80 Dryer Not Working.

Hi

Our lab's dryer fan stopped working. Machine is working fine, prints coming out wet.

Any advice would be appreciated.

For me it was a problem with the wires on the connector on the cover of the dryer...

Are you SURE dryer fans off  or just the thermo-fuse got burnt ?

I have USED dryer fan or you can have it repaired locally.

But thermal fuse is cutting off heaters - not turbine. 

COuld be loose cable, could be connector, could be broken cable... could be faulty relay.

 

Are you able to remove cover and make some measurements ? be awared - If you are not skilled - don't make risk - it's 230V - can destroy you and a lot other in machine. 

1.Is the ventilation fan ath the side of dryer turning ? if yes 230V is coming to dryer - not the cables and not the connector.

2. to be sure ... Machine switched off or whole dryer lifted - check with the ohmmeter if the thermal fuse at the fan output is OK - you should read zero  or single ohms on display. If you read OVL or OL (overload ) - fuse broken - to be replaced. be sure to touch it correctly or unscrew protection plate to acces soldering points.

3. Next - you have schematics on the cover, you know which relay is switching on turbine or where are the wires.

check if u have power on

a) turbine connector

filtering capacitor

c) relay ENTRY

d) Relay OUTPUT. 

 

I bet on relay , what are your types guys ? 

however after 10 years of intensive use all electric motors can fail...
