elyusef Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 Hello, can somebody help me with 32SD software? I need it for converting a QSS-3213 non SD to a 32SD machine. I’m an electronic engineer in Cuba, trying to fix a QSS-3213SM minilab that was not working for a year. First I had to replace the PC motherboard, adapted a 41D3+ BIOSTAR motherboard and installed Windows XP SP3. Then I had to replace the Printer Control PCB, and after a thorough maintenance work, got printings with problems of stripes. Then I had to replace the image processing and image correction PCBs (both were bad), and all was fixed, the minilab worked like a charm. But those two boards (image processing and correction PCBs) were not mine, so I had to give them back, and decided to convert the machine into a 32SD model, that do not need those boards. So I change the two PCI to ARCNET-LVDS boards on the PC, for the PCI to LASER-Scanner double board that the 32SD and 33SD models use, connected the LVDS and ARCNET cables of Printer and Scanner directly to that board the same way a 33SD models do, and had some ARCNET errors, then changed the connection of Printer ARCNET cables to pass through the D-ICE control board. It seems that “D-ICE control board” in 32 non SD machines works the same way that the “Switch” board in 32SD machines. Now all software upgrades and connection tests works fine with 3300SD software, but obviously the printer can’t work because it is a 3213 model, not a 3300, although the Laser and Processor controls are the same, the Printer is different. I need to install 32SD software to see if the system can work with this configuration, so I can get rid of those problematic boards (image processing and correction PCBs) and D-ICE also. Thanks and regards. elyusef@yahoo.com
Minilab service Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 You are wrong - printer and processor in QSS32xx and QSS320xSD are the same. Different only workstation and used scanner. Not SD minilab can be converted to SD. Can use SD or SD PRO software ( without scanner ) . Have both SD software versions.
elyusef Posted March 3, 2015 Author Report Posted March 3, 2015 Yes I know that, what i was saying is that the 33xxSD printer is different from 32xx printer, my problem is that i don't have 32SD software, only 33SD, any way that i can get the 32xxSD software? I prefer the PRO version, don't need the scanner. The minilab original model is QSS3213.
Minilab service Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 QSS33xxSD and QSS32xxSD are different. QSS3213 can run as QSS3203 SD PRO . Then you will not need PCI/Scanner interface. QSS3213 also can run as QSS3203 SD , but then you need PCI/Scanner interface to connect S4 scanner there. Of course can get SD software. Have ask your service or part suppliers and they can provide it. Also can buy this software. Have main software ( SD software with scanner and PRO versions ) and many optional ( correction and etc ) . Tell, if you are interested
elyusef Posted March 7, 2015 Author Report Posted March 7, 2015 Already installed the 32SD software, but still no luck, it does not initialize the system because it says ARCNET error on "switch" PCB, of course i have not the switch PCB, I suppose that is a PCB only used in 32SD minilabs, I thought that it was not important because its only function is to sound the beeper, but the system could not ignore that PCB, so i need to buy it. Thanks.
yustas Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 Please give me a part number for that PCB and I will quote you for it for lowest price on the market.
elyusef Posted March 13, 2015 Author Report Posted March 13, 2015 The part is Switch Control PCB, J391121 or J391238. Thanks.
yustas Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 New part number for that PCB is J391238-00 and it costs 486,75 US$ ex works. The brand new.
elyusef Posted April 15, 2015 Author Report Posted April 15, 2015 Hello, Already solved the problem! Now the minilab works perfectly, with the “Switch Control PCB” made in Cuba, not in Japan. I can confirm that 32SD and 32SDPRO software NEED the “Switch”, because it is in “Desk Section”, and the main software could not ignore it. With “Desk Section” OK, you can disconnect the Arcnet from the minilab, so the software can’t communicate with Printer Control, Laser Control and Processor Control, and the main software gives all those errors but initialize, so you can enter menus, etc. But if the problem is in “Desk Section”, that is, in PC-Laser, or in the “Switch Control”, then there is no way the software can initialize. All of this is in 32SD or 32SDPRO systems, the only Noritsu minilabs that use the “Switch Control PCB”. The other PCB that is part of the 32SDPRO Desk Section is PC-Laser. So I decided to modify the software of the old “D-ICE Control PCB” to perform like the “Switch”. It took me some time of disassembly in machine code of the H8S/2340 Hitachi/Renesas CPU, programming in that language, had to add a hardware connection (in the “D-ICE Control PCB”) and finally got the Cuban “Switch Control PCB” working. Even the main PC software in the option “version check” gives the version of the “Switch” software (1.006, OK). It is a proof that Noritsu Software is not untouchable. So, now the only PCB needed to convert a 32 machine to 32SDPRO is the “PC-Laser PCB”; the “D-ICE Control PCB” can be transformed to “Switch Control PCB” without problems. Yusef
nares911 Posted April 4, 2016 Report Posted April 4, 2016 Dear elyusef , How to modify the software of the old “D-ICE Control PCB” to perform like the “Switch” ? - disassembly in machine code of the H8S/2340 Hitachi/Renesas CPU, programming in that language, - hardware connection in the “D-ICE Control PCB” Please advise nares911@yahoo.com Thank you
elyusef Posted April 11, 2016 Author Report Posted April 11, 2016 Hello, Sorry, when I said "hardware connection in the D-ICE Control PCB" I meant a hardware modification, it was a year ago but I have annotations of that. It was necessary because it was very difficult for me to modify the firmware of the D-ICE control PCB to perform like Switch Control PCB, so I modified only some necessary areas, and had to change electrical connections to complete the work. The only issue that remains is that the beeper won't work, but the minilab always works perfectly. Also I needed an old EEPROM programmer to read and write the 32-pin flash rom of the D-ICE control. Therefore I could say that if anyone needs to do that modification, to convert a 32 Desk Section to a 32SD Desk Section, it would be relatively easy for me because the firmware is already done, but difficult to post how to do it, specially if you are not an electronic specialist. Furthemore you would need the PC-Laser noritsu card to complete the work, the PC could be any PC with one PCI slot, serial port and Windows XP.
nares911 Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 Thank you dear elyuf , You mean that you used Old D-ICE control Pcb J390946 . Program new Firmware to EEPROM on that D-ICE Control pcb. After that the D-ICE control PCB should perform like Switch Control PCB .No need to touch H8S/2340 Hitachi/Renesas CPU . And get rid of Image processing and correction PCBs and D-ICE . Which PC-Laser noritsu card that you used with your new computer J390865 or J391048 . Thank you. Nares
elyusef Posted April 17, 2016 Author Report Posted April 17, 2016 I used J391048, from an discarded 33SD machine, because the J390865 is not compatible with the 32SD PC software.
