ericj Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 I finally transferred the SP2000 stand-alone into my workroom in my house from a too cold/damp or too hot conservatory where it has resided for 18 months. I've got it all working OK as far as I can see. Normally I written to a memory stick via the F-DI on the IBM server. However, I would like to be able to write to a CD-R.. The following error appears - Verification 2169 - Either the Users CD-R was not inserted or this is not a CD-R for F-DI service. It makes me wonder if I am supposed to have some sort of "registered" CD-R or something. Can someone kindly help?
ericj Posted April 14, 2015 Author Report Posted April 14, 2015 I seem to have solved it - but introduced other problems! I now see that I have to tell the scanner that I wish to write the following scans to a CD. When they have been scanned I was able to double click on the item in the F-DI program and it happily burnt it to a CD-R. I checked and it did it successfully BUT 1. The server hung.- and the scanner was giving an error message wjhich said Cannot send status information to? Check the network connection and, later, Error 1596 Service info cannot be read. Check network connection. and 2. although the CD has been copied into a nice little package (and properly closed) the alleged highres scans are really lowres! I have the print size set as 15 x 12 so that the normal scans are as large as the scanner can produce. Is it possible to make an ajustment somehwere to get these larger resolution scans - usually about 5 or 6mb to go to the CD rather than the CD's highres of about 100k! Many thanks
ericj Posted April 20, 2015 Author Report Posted April 20, 2015 I've solved it myself! (Well, almost). I see that there is a CD Pro mode for burning the CD. Clearly, when this software or scanner was produced the average user of the service was happy to receive their photos on a CD at a resolution we consider too low now. So the photos can be burned to CD in CD Pro mode. These are of the 3 to 5 Mb sizes which is what I wanted. Unfortunately, though, an error comes up which says insufficient space which was not true as I was only sending about 6 pics to CD as a test. Any answers? If I find the answer for myself I'll post it!
