Hiya everyone

I have recently acquired an AKS 300 wet printer. After cleaning it out a preceded to boot the machine. It did it's normal boot up with beeps and lines but instead of going to the message about booting and doing a self test, it gives an error in French that roughly translates to: Permanent data corruption. Then it mentions sv_save_003. Then 'Initialise by default. Press enter S.V.P' (dont know what S.V.P is). (thought I'd add, when I press enter nothing happens. Pressing any of the keys does nothing. The 4 green lights to the left cycle from top to bottom)

Anyway, after talking to the previous owner, we agree that the best way to move forward is to reprogram the machine. Problem is, I have no idea how. I have the floppy disk with 6 files on it, there are three different dates of files - 2001, 2001 and 2003. For each year there is an 'F chan' file and a 'config' file. Is this enough to reprogram the machine, if so, how do I go about doing it?

I have a floppy disk reader so I've got the files. But I'm not sure what to plug the computer into. There are two unused serial ports at the back of the machine. There is also a metal cover with a sticker on it saying something about being upgraded for edge 8 but still being compatible with 7 and beside the sticker are two serial ports, one has an unsheathed cable but the other has a proper serial cable going to the big green board (with the two unused serial ports). So after I've identified the correct port and plugged my computer in, what software do I use to transfer the files? Is it a regular serial connection where I will be presented with a menu or do I have to use special software? If it is special software, where can a get it from?

A lot of question asked, fingers crossed someone can help me!!

Thanks for any help, Samwell.
