TheMechanic Posted December 19, 2016 Report Posted December 19, 2016 Hey guys, all the prints on my 370 are coming out blank. Not just the images from MS01, but even the condition and test pattern prints. Everything comes out paper white. I removed the laser unit and used compressed air to clean everything. This usually fixes it but this time no dice. I checked the laser status and each of them say Normal and no issues present. Any suggestions?
shutter Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 Clean IR-diod D561L. You have to lift the laser unit and detach the sensor D651P. Normaly it is enough to blow compressed air through the the opening via a thin plastic tube. If You would like to see the "before and after" you must remove the subscanner unit since D561L is mounted below the paper path.
TheMechanic Posted December 22, 2016 Author Report Posted December 22, 2016 Shutter, I will retry. I opened it last Sunday and blew compressed air in the subscanning unit. Thanks for the heads up !

They are all responsive. The laser shutter/motor/sensor are all functional as well as I saw it operating. I am starting to believe the issue is with a board. I had not printed pictures in weeks and it appears to be a coincidence the board failed in that time span. If condition and prints are all failing to the machine, what would you recommend I swap? The CTL board or the FMB? Any help is appreciated! I've made sure the sub scanning unit's sensors are all functional, as well as motors/rollers. The BNC connectors for the RGB lasers are also working well. The status of the lasers all says 'Normal', as well as thermister alarm. Tx!
shutter Posted December 28, 2016 Report Posted December 28, 2016 Some 350/370 have had issues with the laser unit shutter or rather the foam ribbons around the shutter. If there is a fault with the shutter it self you will get an error. Other possible error is R AOM, since R laser is used to trigger the writing of a RGB line a bad R AOM could give you this error. Try to exhange R and G AOM.
TheMechanic Posted December 28, 2016 Author Report Posted December 28, 2016 Got it, will give the AOM switch a try. The shutter is working well and no foam appears on the side. Thanks again man I will test and report back!
yustas Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 99% that Red AOM driver is out of order. Please check it first of all.
TheMechanic Posted January 7, 2017 Author Report Posted January 7, 2017 No dice gentlemen. I swapped the Red with the Green AOM and i get nothing. Does the red AOM differ from the green and blue or are they all interchangeable? I swapped the FMC board and the FMB memory cards as well. Still no output. Any suggestions? shutter Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 Please check that your P1 are active, feed out 5cm paper from the paper magazine to expose it. Rewind the paper into the magazine and load it. Let the printer feed the exposed paper through the processor.
yustas Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 yes AOM drivers all interchangeable. How did you swapt them? Fully remove and fit to other place? Or just changed the cables?
TheMechanic Posted January 9, 2017 Author Report Posted January 9, 2017 The chemicals are indeed active as the paper comes out white. I have enabled low volume operation on the machine to replenish the chemistry. It asks me to add 4L of PSR every couple of days as it turns on in mornings and warms all tanks. Yustas, I replaced the AOM by removing all screws on the Red AOM and swapping it with a spare Green one I had. I also changed the top and bottom BNC connectors, as well as the power plug. The machine does not hit me with SOS detection errors either. Weird stuff, I usually fix things by now but this has me confused
yustas Posted January 9, 2017 Report Posted January 9, 2017 OK. If the AOM drivers swapped in full manner we need to search the cause in other directions. What about the shutter? Did you try to check it in INPUT for open/close?
TheMechanic Posted January 9, 2017 Author Report Posted January 9, 2017 Yes sir I did. The shutter is indeed working as is the sensor that opens and closes it as I took the laser out and saw the movement. Nothing is obstructing it's path either. The photo sensors also appear to be working as the shutter opens when I send prints but I don't see the laser firing at all I cleaned everything for good measure in the exposure section. Images and condition prints (grids, gradations et) all come up blank
shutter Posted January 9, 2017 Report Posted January 9, 2017 The reason to that I asked you to expose the paper to day light and then develop it was that this is a quick way to check that the P1 still give you a black D-max.
TheMechanic Posted January 9, 2017 Author Report Posted January 9, 2017 Ah, i will test today. You are right!
TheMechanic Posted January 9, 2017 Author Report Posted January 9, 2017 The chemistry is bad as a exposed paper came out WHITE! Instead of black! Will manually replenish the machine and try to get it to paint. Any suggestions on how to do so? THANK YOU GUYS!
yustas Posted January 9, 2017 Report Posted January 9, 2017 You should replace all the chemical in working tanks. You can leave the replenisher tanks filled if you ae sure in the quality of the chemicals. Seems BF contaminated CD and it lost all its power.
mordaxjr Posted January 16, 2017 Report Posted January 16, 2017 I have the same problem with my Frontier 370 miniprint. But with me, is just the A4 who came out white, with no colours....
