Photo Express GR Posted October 16, 2017 Report Posted October 16, 2017 We run 4" and 8" Fuji paper in gloss and luster on a Noritsu 3501. I can take the same file and it will print fine on both 4" papers but prints very dark on 8" papers. I have done numerous emulsion checks and they register fine. Noritsu suggested I register the canisters but could not give me a password to do so. Any help is appreciated!
Dave S Posted October 16, 2017 Report Posted October 16, 2017 You don't need any password to register the canisters or get access to the setup menus. First check in F → Menu → Extension → Setup → Paper Setup, Select your 8" paper magazine 203(#) check the balance memory figures on the 8" papers match the 4" paper. The standard value is 0 0 0. Check the balance memory inside the print channel settings, under the image quality Tab, again the standard value is 0 0 0.
Photo Express GR Posted October 17, 2017 Author Report Posted October 17, 2017 Thanks Dave. All of the values were set to 0. Do you have any other suggestions why the 8" prints so dark?
Dave S Posted October 17, 2017 Report Posted October 17, 2017 Go to F → Menu → Extension → Setup → Laser Setup → Magazine Registration/Setup, On the 203 magazines set the 1 (assuming type 1 is the paper in use) to 0, then click yes to register, then set it back the same number it was (1). Now click the Magazine Registration/Setup button to setup the magazine again. Hopefully that will clear any bad data on the 8" magazine.
