BJ Posted February 10, 2018 Report Posted February 10, 2018 I have a QSS-3301 minilab with an S-2 scanner that I am about to decommission. But I would like to continue using the scanning capabilities, and not the printer. Is it feasible to modify the machine, to disable the printer and processor section? The main purpose would be avoidance of the necessity to maintain temperatures and power costs in the chemical tanks. The alternative is to spend money on a standalone scanner, something I don't want to do, as I already own the scanner.
yustas Posted February 10, 2018 Report Posted February 10, 2018 You will need to disconnect the scanner, install a software for qss33 pro and change minilab model in specification menu. We have software. Send me a email. Info@minilablaser.com
kodak_service Posted February 10, 2018 Report Posted February 10, 2018 This is possible, but requires a lot of effort from a qualified engineer. In short, you need to do the following: -turn off all circulation pumps and all heaters (in tanks and drying); - block the level sensors of working and replenishing tanks; - replace all thermosensors with constant resistors of the appropriate value; -pour out all solutions.
yustas Posted February 10, 2018 Report Posted February 10, 2018 Oh.. I read the first message of the topic starter not attentively... Of course, if you want to use qss3301 with just a scanner without wet processor you will have to do a lot of work for it... Sorry, I thought you needed just to convert the qss3301 into qss3301 PRO and do not use the scanner at all.
Minilab service Posted February 10, 2018 Report Posted February 10, 2018 (edited) Try on QSS3301 to install S-900 software. It should work. S1 workstation and QSS3301 image processing hardware almost the same. Before experiments make full backup ( from service mode ) . Edited February 10, 2018 by Minilab service

Dear Minilab Service , I am interested in Main System Software S-900SA / S-1700SA > How much for cost ? Please email me nares911@gmail.com
Minilab service Posted July 27, 2019 Report Posted July 27, 2019 Hello. I sent you private message. Please read it. Pay attention - if going install on QSS33 series minilab you can do it only on models, which have image processing section. Can't use on QSS3300 and SD minilabs. After conversion on QSS33 will be used only image processing section. All other ( printer, processor ) can be disconnected, or even removed. The same software can be used to run S-1700SA. It is the same scanner, but faster. On computer LPT should be capacity booster type A. If need - can online make S-1700SA from S-900SA without any boosters. When software from me I always support my customers. If will need can explain how convert your minilab into stand alone scanner. EPB 1
nares911 Posted July 27, 2019 Report Posted July 27, 2019 Thank you very much. Does it no need another special PCB? Or only installed program and disconnected Printer Process .
Minilab service Posted July 27, 2019 Report Posted July 27, 2019 Which minilab do you have? Special boards not required. If you have model with image processing section ( QSS32, QSS33 and some QSS34 models ) and have S2 or S3 scanner you can make stand alone scanner. Just have change some connections and can disconnect or remove printer and processor.

Minilab service Posted September 2, 2020 Report Posted September 2, 2020 It is too expensive from QSS3411 make stand alone printer. To do it instead SI-2400 scanner need connect workstation CS-1 ( workstation from QSS32 series minilabs ) and install QSS34PRO software. SI-2400 scanner can't work stand alone. It is possible to use stand alone older scanner ( SI-2600 from QSS31 ) . It can be converted to S-2600SA.

I looked into this a while ago, to convert a SI-2600 to a S-2600SA it needs to have a control unit, which basically contains all the circuit boards from the 3101 printer & Processor sections (Printer control PCB, Laser Control PCB & Processor Control PCB etc) which is totally crazy. It seems like Noritsu couldn't be bothered to fully re write the software to delete all these unnecessary circuit boards for use as a stand alone scanner.
