fcosmin78
Hello everyone! I hope I can find some help in the forum. I try to upgrade my QSS3201SD (now working without the scanner attached) PC since it takes forever to print on it. I am using a Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L mainboard. I have managed to move the PCI-ARCNETboard from the old computer to the new case, installed WinXp and the Noritsu software. My problem is that the software send Shutdown signal to PC when i try to update the colorimeter (at ~ 70% process completion). Does anyone now how to trick the software to belive that is has the original Power Supply installed? I also tried with the COM cable connected to the original PSU but still the same, Qss software shutdowns PC during colorimeter update. Please help. Wish you all the best. Saludos desde Rumania set com port in bios Edited March 18 by arche hernandez sanchez fcosmin78

Minilab service
Check COM port status and settings on Windows device manager. Look which is COM port number for port, where you connect power supply UPS and colorimeter. If you instead original power supply ( with UPS ) use standard power supply ( without UPS ) then you to COM port input can connect 5V. Then Noritsu software see that power supply is working. When COM port settings are correct, but COM not connected during Noritsu software startup should activate QSSshutdown utility and computer turn off. If to disable COM port on device manager then QSSshutdown will not be activated, but colorimeter will not work also ( because colorimeter connected to the same port ) . Instead to upgrade internal minilab computer better connect external computer with W11, or W10 and digital orders print from this computer. fcosmin78

I will try tomorrow with the original PSU (waiting for a 20 pin to 24 pin adaptor for the mainboard). I wanted to upgrade the internal pc as i have old mainboard with cpu and ram in stock so it would be the option with the less investment for me If I would like to use an external PC with Win10 and print orders from that PC, what would be the costs? Thank you again!!!

fcosmin78
Hello everyone! Thank you all for the help! I have finally managed to make it work. Had issues with Windows XP but worked like a charm with Windows 2000 and original PSU. I have one more question only. Does anyone know how to make Programed Timer and the start of PC from sorter button work again? Is the only thing that does not work as before. I assume that is a custom connection of the original Ricoh motherboard F-panel. Thank you very much!
Dave S
If this is a 32xx series machine, the front panel switches connect to an interface board, just unplug the front panel connectors from the interface board and connect them directly to the motherboard.
