QSS 3801 Temp is above safety range

Agree...

Check filter, pump, (processor relay pcb SSRxx fails) and rarely failure with processor control pcb... can apply to most QSS-

IF P2 temp climbs slowly up to 43 after 40 reached..., then I would guess that SSR is half-wave short circuit thus continues to provide 110Vac (instead of 220Vac) to chemical heater instead of turn off heater

Good luck

@Dave S, I checked the circulation pump and cleaned it.. there were no signs of being blocked. It is swirling, but quite slow moving, compared to PS1 and PS2.

@Davidlam, I am attaching photo. Want to know which SSxx you suggested checking?IMG20230913115039.thumb.jpg.4b7c0d992f4920f07ae836243d364117.jpg

Is there a temporary solution or fix to this issue? Or will need to replace the motherboard? Or just the SSR2 Relay?

As a temporary solution you can remove fuse F6 once the machine is up to temperature, this will disconnect the BF heater.

Either you need to replace the relay PCB or have it repaired by replacing the SSR 2.

DIY  add a manual on-off switch to the BF heater...  or ..  can someone help to check IF there is any idle (Not-in-use) same type SSR on the board that you can move it to SSR2 ??

Sorry I don't have qss38 wiring diagram

We have QSS-3901G, NO qss-38xx here in my territory.

The relay board is J391466 which is the same as the 37 series.

There are no spare SSR's on that board, 3 are used for the solution heaters, the remaining 5 are for the dryer heater.

As a temporary solution, I am disconnecting the wire of  Heater once it reached the required temperature and once it cools down, I connect the wires again, probably would be the same as fuse being taken on and off.. Thanks!

Disconnecting the wire for the heater will also work!

Interesting to see that on your machine it has little extension wires for the heater connections, I’ve not seen that before, on all the machines I have worked on it’s been very difficult to access the CD/BF heater connector plug, which is why I suggested removing the fuse instead.

It must be something Noritsu did on the 38 series onwards.
