i have two plate one is made in china and the other one is original

both is used on 3702

my question are :

1. what is the sign of broken plate and time to replace?

2. both of plate showing higher contrast so step 2 and 3 becoming 1 line with no gradation and step 15 nearly touch 1,6 , but if i apply lamination on plate,  emultion number is good

step 2 are 0.15 0.15 0.15 and step 15 are almost 2, but not perfect. is higher contrast on calibration plate also sign of aging?

3. is this common problem with colorimeter near dryer? i always remove them far away after daily and emultion

thanks

When calibration plate is bad then after measurement D MAX is very high ( sometimes even 4 ) . It can't be reached on silver halide paper.

Noritsu recommends to check/replace plastic calibration plate in two years. If calibration plate is ceramic it doesn't have time limits.

White and black depends only on paper and chemicals. White usually is about 0.1. Black can be 1.8 - 2.8 . Professional paper has higher black level. Levels can find on paper datasheets.

It is hard to say about other calibration plate data. You  can check calibration plate using professional calibrators. For old calibration plate you can create new calibration data and load them on minilab. After that this old calibration plate can be used again.
