filmlab_sam Posted October 9, 2025 Report Posted October 9, 2025 Hi guys, I'm having a problem to turn on the scanner / toshiba. I suspect that power button on either of them might be faulty or perhaps some connecting/powering cables. I've checked all cables, cleaned contacts and hoovered the whole thing. When I turn off the main switch on the side of the scanner and wait 15 seconds, then press the scanner switch of the scanner, the red light on motherboard in Toshiba lights up, but scanner does not start, neither toshiba. I tried pressing both at the same time (did work once in last few weeks). Also from the beginning of the issue, I pressed scanner switch tens of times and it eventually turned on few times, but not anymore. Can someone advice me what cables I should try to change to rule out the cause of the problem or find what it causes? Btw, I tried to run the toshiba standalone (mcu disconnected, power cables separate) and it normally starts up. Also blue control light on the pc power button light up. When connected to the scanner, blue light does not light up as it was on as standalone. I have been using the scanner for about 5 years, this is the first time it has been happening. I have also changed the 2032 battery on the motherboard in Toshiba and checked Bios for turning on after power failure (it is ON). Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Minilab service Posted October 9, 2025 Report Posted October 9, 2025 On BIOS settings select when computer gets power it should start. Then you do not need to press two buttons. When you press scanner button then computer gets power. If after that computer start on black firewire cable will be 12 V and relay power on scanner.
