howdy folks,

I am the proud new owner of a Fuji Frontier SP3000 scanner. The machine is setup as a standalone unit running from two modern towers (the old Toshiba computer is nowhere to be seen). The first computer, the MCU, is directly connected to the scanner via two firewire cables and is running both the MCU and frontend computers as Virtual Machines. This first machine, a modern HP tower, is remotely controlled by a second Acer tower running windows 10 and VMWare Workstation 10 with both instances running over a network with the IP adress of 192.168.1.128. This is a local network of both towers connected to each other directly via ethernet. Both machines are running the adequate Fujifilm software and infrastructure

Now here's the issue: the software on the FRONTEND virtual machine won't open the software, even if the SQL server is running and active nothing will happen. First time I opened it it showed up as a black screen that blocked the whole software. I booted it up again and modified the startup programs to remove the PNSLauncher so I could troubleshoot. After many many hours I'm still stuck and out of solutions. SQL Server can start, the SQL Server Agent doesn't. What can I do?

I'll attach some pictures of the VMWare Workstation setup, the scanner software running (tho the scale is wrong, that'd be another problem to solve but not a priority) and finally the SQL server manager stuck.

This seems similar to what i am experiencing. For me, if i wait long enough on the black screen, say 2 hours, then the software will come up.

is it the same for you?

take a look at the logs in c:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql\logs\errorlog

you might see that the log seems to stop or spends a long time on the step of loading msdb - if yes, we have the same problem, but i do not have a solution yet.
