Laroux2 Posted November 10, 2025 Report Posted November 10, 2025 Hello everyone! I am working on my parents' QSS-3211 and they have been having an issue where the scan filesize from film->USB is very small, no matter what we set the scan setting to in channel options (BASE, 4BASE, Quality, etc). Does anyone have any ideas on how we can increase the scan size for 4x6? Previously, the scans were close to 15mb however ever since I had to reinstall the QSS operating software from an old backup, we cannot seem to get larger than 4-6mb. Thank you!
Dave S Posted November 10, 2025 Report Posted November 10, 2025 Go to Function and Option Registration, Media Tab, on the USB, set the Small to 4 base Mid to 16 base and Large to – In the print channel settings, set the USB to Mid, this should give you a size of 18.1MB when the JPG is uncompressed. Remember JPG is a compressed format so the size of the file will always be smaller than the opened file size. If you open the JPG in Photoshop and go to Image Size, it will show you the actual pixel dimensions this should be 18.1MB on 16 base.

For doing even larger scans, would the - setting be the correct one? Or would I have to change it to something else?

On the - setting the scan size is determined by the print size set in the channel. 305 x 457mm will give you the largest scan size.
