willyb311 Posted November 15, 2025 Report Posted November 15, 2025 Hello! We just got a new-to-us Noritsu V30 and on plugging it in, we had some issues. FIX1 and STB3 were not heating up at all. After some investigation, I discovered the LED's on the control board corresponding to those heaters were also not lighting up. The individual who I bought the machine from had me change the temperature settings around a few times and FIX1 started working, but STB3 still isn't lighting up or heating up. And then, the dryer, which started off warm began to run with just cold air. I do have another peculiar issue - once I changed the temperature settings and saved them, randomly they would revert back (namely, all of the STB's were set to like 50 and after changing them to 37.4 every so often STB2 and STB3 would change back to 50 or 55). Also, when trying to select the temps, I was able to select CD, BL, FIX1 and 2 and change the temps while they were highlighted. But on STB1, 2, 3, and Dryer1 and Dryer2 I had to select the option below it to change the option I wanted to change (for example, I had to have the selection/highlighted temp on STB3 to change STB2, and Dryer1 to change STB3). And lastly, when the machine powered down (on the timer), the fan by the dryer at the back corner of the machine just kept running. I spent most of the day talking with the person I purchased it from, but he had to go and wasn't quite sure what was happening. Any insight or idea about what I could check would be greatly appreciated!
Dave S Posted November 15, 2025 Report Posted November 15, 2025 (edited) Is this a (converted) SM machine? Because a standard V30 does not have a heater or temperature setting for STB 1 and STB 2. It's possible the data in the machine is corrupt. Turn on the DIP switch No.2 on the Main Control PCB, (board on top right) this will put the machine into service mode. Now do an all data initialisation, this will reset all settings to their default values. The extract fan staying on all the time is normal on the V series. willyb311 Posted November 15, 2025 Author Report Posted November 15, 2025 It is a converted machine - I will try that! Thank you so much for the advice. we have another v30 and its extract fan went off when it powers down so I assumed that was an errant behavior.
Dave S Posted November 15, 2025 Report Posted November 15, 2025 Normal behaviour is the extract fan running continuously. Check the exact fan is actually working on your other V30. If there is a lot of condensation on the inside of the processor lid, the fan won't be working. willyb311 1
willyb311 Posted November 17, 2025 Author Report Posted November 17, 2025 Ok, so I reinitiazled the data and almost all of the issues are fixed. Except the STB heater is still not working. The STB3 light on the board isn't turning on at all still. I checked the heater and its within the range it's supposed to be. I checked the fuses also and they appear to be good... Any other things I should check?
Dave S Posted November 17, 2025 Report Posted November 17, 2025 There may be a bad connection on the ribbon cable J/P100 - J/P69 You can test the operation of the heaters in Output check, the LED should light when you press the Yes key.
