iig Posted November 24, 2025 Report Posted November 24, 2025 (edited) Good time of day. I recently started servicing a mini-laboratory. I don't know much while I'm studying. When printing, photos turn out to be dimmer than on the monitor screen when processed in Photoshop. Are there any settings in the mini-lab software? Thank you. alexvigor Posted November 24, 2025 Report Posted November 24, 2025 (edited) Photoshop has nothing to do with this "problem". This is physics. And a little bit of how eye and brain works. Computer screen is a light source. The print cannot emit the light, only reflect. Go to open space under the direct sunlight and repeat the experiment you depicted, you'll see the difference. Another note - never compare printed and digital photo putting them together, next to each other. Your brain will reduce the sensitivity of your retina and surroundings will dim.
