RvK Posted November 27, 2025 Report Posted November 27, 2025 Hello, i need help figuring out and fixinx my very long startup times on the computer that serves the MSSQL Database for the Scanner SP3000. from the logs, it looks like its the database "msdb" that takes up to two hours to finish starting up and only then can i use the scanner. i have replaced the whole Microsoft SQL Server directory with an older Backup of the machine but do not see any improvements. My Client tells me it is 2 hours startup now, but used to be less and has gradually increased over the past months Does anybody know any steps to get any closer to the cause and the fix of this problem?
RvK Posted November 28, 2025 Author Report Posted November 28, 2025 I have restored a backup and have the program starting up in a few minutes. After examining the difference between the old state and the backup state i discovered some logs. It seems that all the time starting up is being spent working through all the jobs in the database and doing something with them. since it is a rather long list of jobs, this takes a long time and increases gradually. so now my next question becomes does anybody else have slow startups on a large number of jobs? is there a way to periodically clean this out with a script?
